Carbon Build Up - How to prevent?

Hi Everyone.

I recently read that a member had carbon build up and he had to repair at his own cost...

I own a 05 GT, and I started to read up on this matter here in the forum, but I couldn't find any clear information, therefore my apologies in advance for duplicating an older posts with my questions.

First, is carbon build up still an issue with an 05?

What can I do about it (other than reving the car, and driving it like how it should be drive)?

I read that you can add additive to fuel or oil? Does this help? Some say that fuel additives can harm the engine by reducing the oil film...

I currently don't face any issues with my car but I would like to take preventative measures if there are any....

Any advice is appreciated, if I am asking for duplicate information, someone pointing me to a smiliar thread would be fine as well.

Thanks!

Use good gasoline (Chevron or Shell) and red line and hold it there for a few seconds, and do this every day.

Carbon build up happens to EVERY CAR

Regular maintenance is all you need.

Good name brand gas, cleaner every couple thousand miles or so.

What type of cleaner? Any particular I should use that will not harm a rotary engine?

Also, this maybe my own ignorance, but I never thought different gas brands meant difference in quality. So I would pump from whatever the station that came into my view...ex: BP, AMACO,... but always used 93 Octane.

One day however, I had to use 87 because that's all that station had, and I was almost out of gas. and I got more gas mileage that week for some reason....

Thanks for your input guys

I use premium gas, Chevron fuel injector cleaner before each oil change, and redline her often. I premix with Idemitsu at 4oz. per tank. I've also ordered the kit to de-carbon the engine. I'll probably start doing this on a regular basis too.

Quality detergent gasoline
Fuel system cleaner every 4k miles
Pre-mix 4 oz/tank (optional for this discussion)
Rev the rotary often

No worries.
