Car won't start - CEL and Battery light
Hi Guys,
Went to start my car this morning and it won't start. When I put the key in I get a CEL and battery light. Turn the key and it clicks, dash lights go out nothing else. Disconnecting the battery does not clear the CEL. I drove the car last night and no problems. I had a friend try a boost and same results. We even switched batteries and my battery starts in his car but his doesn't work in mine. I cleaned the battery terminals and checked the ground near the battery. I also looked through the fuses and didn't see anything blown. That said the 120A looked fine but I'm not 100% sure as it looks different than other 120A fuses I've seen in pictures on the forums. At this point my only guess is a stuck neutral switch. Any ideas? |
Also it's an 04 MT with 70,000km.

Also the coils and plugs are quite new (less than 10,000 km)

Turns out the starter magically died overnight. Seriously what is wrong with Mazda? Why is this car so unreliable?

not the starter, well it could be but try this first.. take out your alternator and clean it. its probably dirty. happened to someone else too and it worked.
