Ive been noticing my car is having a tough time starting like you got to turn the key for 5 seconds before its starts and also its performing very sluggish like its not pulling like before. What do you guys think I need new spark plugs. I bought the car used at 37000 KM it now has 42000 KM and its an 05 auto rx8. Thanks


So I moved my rx8 from my driveway to the street and then shut it off and tried to start up again wouldnt start. so I removed the fuel fuse and gave it a couple of cranks and put fuse back and gave it another crank and voila it started.

 

Yes...doing something stupid like move your car from the driveway to the street will cause you to flood your engine. As for your other problems...plugs, coils and wires are going to be first on your shopping list and second would be getting your car in to verify that it has the new starter.

 

Put in new spark plugs. Then I would fnd out how many miles are on the igntion coils. I would change them them if they had 15k or more miles on them. Also look into spark plug wires. Fluild Motorsports has a nice set of plug wires. You should look into BG44K fuel sytem cleaner just for preventive maintenance.

 

What are spark plug wires??
