About a month ago, I lost control of my car and basically destroyed the front driverside wheel. While getting repaired the mechanics flooded my engine and had to take it to a Mazda dealership to get it fixed. I just got my car back and now I have a problem when my car is in idle...

Basically, whie at idle, the car will shake side to side occasionally. By that I mean about every 7 to 10 seconds, the car will shake. Unless you are sitting in or touching the car it is unnoticable. The RPM's don't change and I have no problems when the car is moving. The shaking isnt consistent and (time and intensity wise) so I have no idea what it could be or what to tell the mechanics to look for.

I have a feeling I'm going to get the run around here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

make sure the dealer replaced your plugs, if they didn't get them to or find the DIY on cleaning them. if that doesn't fix it it's likely the newer software they probably installed. if not that then you may have a slight vaccum leak.

thanks for the info guys. I brought it into the shop today, the mechanic told me they only dried the spark plugs, they didnt replace them. So they are replacing them now and changing my brakes as well.

At first I thought they were going to give me a hard time. Tried telling me that my warranty might be cancelled because of the accident and it would be $85 dollars just to look at the car. About an hour later though, he came in told me whats going on and gave me a rental car for the day. Have to wait and see what happens when I get the car back.

I dont think it would be the engine mount only because there is only 8500 miles on the car, but if it continues to shake I'll have them look at that...
