so what's up guys
i have a 2004 rx8 and all of sudden i am unable to shift to 6th gear
i already replaced the clutch.
what can it be the problem?
HELP!!!

 

you have to press the clutch........ haha okay jokes a side.. does it grind trying to go in ? and while parked are you able to put it in gear? or when driving, when you press the clutch and lean the shifter towards 6th , slowly leaning on the gear can you slip it in while the revs fall? let me know

 

nope...it's as if something is in the way
btw i removed the boot and everything
i only left the stick, there i can shift to 6 but cant to 5th
and i put everything together and i cant shift to 6th again


oh and i can shift to reverse

 

do you hear a slight grind when shifting in the other gears ? could be a broken synchro, or the teeth on your gears could be finished... ` are you the original owner?

 

I say bent shift forks.

 

nope no slight grind or anything...
and nope im not the original owner
previous owner was a girl, not offending people, but she would maintained well.
is this going to require a tranny job?
or something i can do?
