Are you sure that solved the problem? I would go to an autozone and pull the code to find out what the problem is. When you fix a problem the CEL should go away.

actuall i had it at a dealer and they said i needed new plugs but then they wanted to charge me 300$ to do it so i just got out of there and ordered them myself and put them in. everything is good to go now just that light is on. i went to advanceauto today and they didnt have a CAN scanner only OBDII. so no help there but one of my freinds said to just unplug it for an hour and then it should go away.

disconnect both + _ cables from battery then touch them to each other then reconnect to battery. After you start your car you will need to turn steering fully left then fully right, turn off ignition and restart, that will clear the TCS light.

Turning the wheel full lock left and then right recalibrates the dynamic stability control.

ANYTIME you unplug the battery you will have to do this reset or you will get the DCS/TCS lights. Turn car to on(not start), turn wheel all the way to right, then all the way to left, then key off, then you can start as normal.

Rx-8 Owners Manual:
"NOTE:
If the battery is disconnected, the DSC
will be inoperable. In this case, the DSC
OFF indicator light flashes and the
TCS/DSC indicator light illuminates.
To make the DSC operable, do the
following procedure.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position.
2. Turn the steering clockwise fully,
then turn it counterclockwise fully.
3. Make sure the DSC OFF indicator
goes off.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF
position, then turn it to the ON
position again.
5. Make sure the TCS/DSC indicator
light goes off.

If the TCS/DSC indicator light and the
DSC OFF indicator light remain
illuminated even after turning the
ignition switch to the ON position,
consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer."
