RX8-TX

You did everything right capturing the file and transfering from Palm to PC so you are 99% done. The file is a standard Palm database file so just ignore the binary Palm database header junk at the very top. All the active OBD data is in the form of simple TAB and comma delimited ASCII Text strings - one measurement per line. Use WordPad or Word (not notepad) to view and play around with the tab stops so you can get the data fields to line up.

Thanks for the tip! I managed to clean up the file; however, I am going to look into automating the clean up process a little bit more. It is going to be a bit of a pain to clean up a decently sized sample of data points for any extended period of time using Wordpad/Word. Maybe Excel macros?

I'll report back once I get something going!

Thanks!

Anyone try running the CANscan software on a Macintosh with Virtual PC(a PC emulator). I have a 1 GHz powerbook and Virtual PC version 6.

I currently have canzoomers CANSCAN on order. If this does not work I will probally contact Harrison for the palm unit/software.

Thanks!

Alright, I am going to post this here initially. Look at the chart, it is pretty self explanatory anyways. But it is a 2 gear run (1-2) x 2. It is going ULTRA rich (11s) a WOT -which is in tune with the stock 8. But, is it normal for the A/F to reach 20 when OFF the throttle? or do you think it may be a CANScan fluke?

It's normal to hit 20 when you're decelerating with the car in gear.

http://tyrannical.org/cz <- first graph is stock, you'll see I run in the 11's after 6k rpm, which shows how quickly the car burns fuel when reving it up.

So which CANscan is worth getting?

Palm OS version from the Harrison R&D? Do they have Windows version for laptop in the $199 package or is it just for Palm only?

Btw,

AutoXray 4000's latest firmware updates allows you to pull PCM revision's from CAN enabled vehicles. If anyone is in the area for the next MSCW meet (DC/VA/MD) at fudd's, or the Oct autocross, I'll scan your car if your interesting in knowing your flash revision.

The windows version is $140.

I like the laptop version simply because you need a laptop to run the CZ software.
