burnt coil question
Do burnt coils always burn out in pairs or can you only burn out #1? My number one is burned out and I am wondering if another is and it is not visible.
As well, can you swap #1 with any other coils to make it run smoother (eg.#3)?
It will take a while for mazda to get new coils in stock.
Thanx for any replies.
Remember to drive it like you stole it.

Just because its not visibly burnt doesn't mean its still working.. Mazda should check all 4...and replace as needed. You can verify burnt coils with an ohm meter-- do a search on 'burnt coils'..someone posted how to do it.
yeah they are testing them on monday, can someone explain how exactly to test them myself without a oscilloscope. Also, maurice from canzoomer recommended using thermal epoxy to put small 1 inch heat sinks on the problem spot on the coils. This will dissipate the heat. Is the problem spot always, directly in front of the electrical plug on the coil?
Thanx for info
