Both of the nutplates for my rear license plate had a broken screw in them when I purchased my 8. I attempted to remove/drill/etc them out and it appeared that I was in the clear. Upon putting in the first screw into the plate, I assume the plastic pieces that hold it in place snapped.

So, I know that you can remove the bumper and replace the nutplate that way, but is there an easier, or better, way to replace the plate(or screw)?

 

yea it's hard/impossible to reach behind the holes for the female end without taking off the rear bumper

I just double sided taped my license plate. so far so good

 

autozone and home depot i believe as well sell these little plastic anchors that pop into those spots from the outside so you can properly install your plate
