broken emergency brake thingy>????

first of all I tried search and nothing was really relelvant that I had found-so yeah-the thing under the emergency brake on my 8 seems to be gone and I can't even see it in there- I don't know when it happened cause you can't see it from the drivers seat, has anyone else had this happen>? from the passanger seat when the e-brake is up- -IT LOOKS HORRIBLE NOW!!!!!!!

Yes, my rubber grip/boot assembly broke. The rubber that covers the cable under the console looks like it ripped right off. It is covered under warranty.
