Avoiding having headlights ripped out- park against another bumper?

I am going to the Meadowlands in NJ tonight to see Springsteen. I have parked there many times, but last night there was a huge rash of xenon headlight thefts, where they removed or ripped the bumpers off.

Since I only have 1 car, I have to take the RX8. If I park my front right against somonees rear bumper, will that deter headlight theft?

any opinions thanks - I am leaving in a coupla hours.

Rent a car for the evening. Call Enterprise and they'll pick you up.

the rx-8 is a lesser known car, so it's harder to tell that you do have xenons. there will probably be increased security there tonight. you don't own the maxima with easier-to-steal headlights.

so, yeah, park under a light, and by someone's rear bumper, so that there's not much room to work. i think you'll be ok.

take them out and drive with a flashlight, nothing to steal.

I would do as others said, park close to the event, not way out by the exit if you can, and park close to someones back bumper.

This can only end in tragedy.

Just have one of your buds drop you off, or take a cab, its not worth the potential risk of

a) getting headlights stolen
b) getting crashed into because you parked too close
c) the theives getting irritated that they can't steal your headlights so they key your car.

Note: If a "real" thief wants to take your stuff, they'll take it. Best alarm in the world does not make a difference.

I was going to crow about living in a relatively crime free area untill I remembered a guy about 15 blocks away had the DOORS stolen off his Civic the other night.
