i have a 2004 AT. Its time for my 60K service and I don't live in an area where there is a mazda dealer...anyways the owners manual says the "manual transmission fluid" needs to be replaced but doesn't talk about the AT.
Should I replace it?

 

It should have been replaced sometime ago... I used RedLine High Temp ATF in mine at 30k. Change the rear differential oil as well. Do a search for details on that - you can do it yourself, if you are not afraid to get a bit dirty ;o) Not sure you can change the ATF yourself though - but if you get the ATF and the filter, another shop should be just fine.

 

I do a complete fluid flush at the end of the year for all fluids. Man, I pity your tranny if it's only getting a AT fluid change now at 60k miles..........
