CA ATTENTION ROTOR HEADS (turbo charging question)

i have a 2004 rx8 only recently mazda dealer warrantied and put in new motor for me. i am the 4th owner of the vehicle.

can i turbo charge the rx8 and safely get around 350-400 without making any changes to engine internals at all.
lets say my goal is minimum of 350 to the wheel.
if possible what kits would you guys recommend.

NO

Not possible. It's not even safe to get 250whp from our engine. Every bit of power you add is a direct drop in durability. 300rwhp is a very expensive and customized job (start with a $10,000 budget and go up from there), and the lifespan is very tenuous. Expect maybe 100 to 10,000 miles at that power level.

The only "upgrade the internals" you can do is different seals and very light porting, and it WON'T make it any safer.

THIS IS NOT A PISTON ENGINE

Perhaps you completely overlooked the "Major Horsepower Upgrades" subforum?

Go there and start reading build threads.

Yes, because changing the seals to another material does just about nothing for you except spend your money to make you feel better.

Side seals are still the most likely to fail, and not because of the seals, but because of the springs warping from overheating. Once the side seals go, the shrapnel will take care of destroying your apex seals as well, as a convenience.

If you really want to see what goes into making a turbo work, read build threads. Seriously. You will quickly see that there is no kit, nothing drop in, and NOTHING reliable.

If you don't want this to turn into a flame fest against you (once the rest of the country starts waking up and logging on), I'd recommend going to the first post, clicking edit, and choosing the delete option.

If the thread stays, you WILL get quite a bit of harassing replies.

How could this not be viewed as anything but a troll thread?

Anyone smart enough to install, setup and tune a turbo system would not post a thread like this that is impossible to answer without doing background searching first.

Then that person would find a huge amount information and if they didn't it means they don't know how to use a search engine which would make turbo charging an engine hopeless for them.

LOL see what I did there
