Anybody have an idea what's going on?
 

I started my car up today after work, let it warm up then drove it across the parking lot and down a side road. From a stop sign I went to 4k in 1st, shifted to 2nd and let it wind out to 6k. Suddenly it halted and scared the sh!t out of me. It felt like when a car hits fuel cut and you nearly smash your forehead off the steering wheel.

I stopped, tested the revs, everything seemed to be fine. Having only a 1 mile drive home, I just continued.

When I got close to town, I went WOT a couple times in 2nd and 3rd. The car hesitated like the clutch was slipping and when I took my foot off the throttle, the rpms went up about 100rpm before they started to drop.


No mods done to the car except a catback exhaust, the cat is stock. Also the car has 112,000KM, It's still the first engine.

Have you checked your cat?
6K rpms is around when the apv(alve) opens. There is a thread on how to test it.
Also, you may have a fuel pump issue.
Check these three areas
