Air temp too cold to start!!!!

This morning when I went to start my 8, it wouldn't start. I had the dealership look at it because I thought it had flooded. They just said that it (air temp.) needed to be warmer out before it would start. It was about 20 degrees out. Has anyone else had this problem? More specificaly people who live north.

I am sure MazdaUsa would love to hear about the dealer who claims the vehicle is unusable below 20 degrees F.

I've started my car often at around 0F, and I've heard from an RX-8 owner in Alaska who routinely starts his car at -15F. That dealer's excuse/reason is pure BS.

Regards,
Gordon

I agree with Gordon. I've started mine in the same kind of temps, and have had no problems.

I started mine yesterday, it was about -5 degrees, no problem. Your dealer is blowing smoke up your ***. What is it with the Mazda service personnel, are they really that dumb? I'm afraid to even get my oil changed at the dealership.

Ive recieve a phone call this morning from a customer who said her 8 wouldnt start - it was about 28 degrees out - and she was having the car towed in. We got it and it started right up.

My tech (Who just got back from 8 school), said that Mazda has had some issues with the car not starting in the cold (NOTE: Kind of like the MazdaSpeed Protege which delayed the release several months). Its not on all cars and its a small percentage that is being effected, but Mazda is aware of the concern and trying to figure out if it is a here and there thing or something that needs to be addressed. I drive a Honda and sometimes it doesnt start in the cold lol My personal opinion, cars are like 2 year olds....sometimes they work, sometimes they are a pain the butt.

And if I am not mistaken didnt the 3rd Gen RX7 have a problem starting in the cold? They are a little before my time and dont know to much on them other than they are rare around here. The last one I saw I quoted 7 grand to and never saw him again.
