Air/Fuel..Gauge
Anyone know which wire i should tap into ,coming from exhaust
color choose is white, blue and 2 blacks |
The wires from the rear O2 sensor are yellow, red, brown and striped white.....
What are you tapping into? |
ok then im really a mess lol
need to get my air/fuel gauge hooked up...... i was hooking it up too a sensor that is connected to exhaust |
didnt your gauges come with wiring diagrams?
no wiring diagrams
I don't think you can "tap" into the OEM sensors to run your gauge. You need an aftermarket Wideband O2 sensor in order to run an AFR gauge.
directions say connect to O2 sensor switch
which gauge did you get? i believe the front sensor is the wideband (the rear is just there to test for cat efficiency.. not sure if it's possible to use the oem sensor to drive an a/f gauge
prosport A/F gauge
doesn't it come with its own sensor?
This gauge is one of our easiest gauges to install with a 3 wire hook up.
Red-12v power Blk- Ground Green-output signal (usually the grey wire) on your stock O2 sensor. |
the problem is you need to make sure the gauge is compatible with the output the stock o2 sensor produces.. afaik different manufacturers use different electronic circuits to "drive" the sensor. pray someone more knowledgeable chimes in ;)

that would suck since i got it from a forum member
The front is a wideband. You'll need to connect it to the back. I know this is a bit late, But I ran into this problem already. you want to connect it to the Blue wire.
the 2 blacks are just grounds. |
umm why would you ever connect a wbo2 gauge to a narrowband sensor?
Because his gauge is a Narrowband Gauge connecting to the rear Narrowband sensor.. you could figure it out any way you want.. He asked which of the 4 wires to use. Where did you see him saying he had a wide band gauge? Most gauges out are narrowband...
my bad.. i assumed if someone were installing an o2 gauge they would want one that's actually useful :lol2:
