Advice on installing BHR ignition on winterized RX8

Hey guys, I've been reading a lot on here about plugs, coils, winterization, etc...but I guess my situation is somewhat unique...

So my engine was replaced in late July at 59k, and I only put about 3-4k on this new engine. I live in Buffalo, so I put the RX8 away in November. I left the gas tank 1/2 full, and removed the battery. I plan on installing the BHR ignition kit in about a month before I take the car back on the road. I am wondering If it would be better to start and run the car with the stock ignition system first and make sure everything is smooth before I install the BHR, or would it be better to just install the BHR with the car in the garage? If I install it before I start the car for the first time, should I spray anything into the spark plug holes to lubricate the apex seals and rotors?

I Just want to make sure I get the most out of this new engine, and I don't want to do anything to cut its life down.

I don't know if you plan on installing new spark plugs along with the coils, but plugs are the only item I would keep in there until the car is started and then replace once its running.
The BHR coils could help aid in starting the car if your OEM ones are weak.

Yes, I plan on getting the whole BHR kit including the plugs, wires, and coils...So your saying to install the coils and wires first, and then the plugs? I do know my plugs in there now need to get replaced because the dealer seafoamed the crap out of my old engine, before they replaced it, so they told me the plugs were pretty fouled from all that carbon.

Yes... I would install the coils and wires, get the car started, then install the plugs.
Sometimes the car can be a little difficult to start after winter, so use your old plugs to get it started and you won't care if they get a little fouled.

Yeah, put the BHR coils on now before you start up after winter to be sure it doesn't flood, but don't squirt anything in the plug holes or it might flood.

Take a leading plug out later and check to get idea of when they need to be replaced.

They could be fairly new from the exchange, and if they're fouled the new coils might unfoul them for you.

Sounds good...

And RED:
I plan on replacing the plugs no matter what, They are from the old engine, and that engine really killed them, I just wanna replace everything to start fresh this spring with the new engine.

Put the complete kit/parts in the car and then start it up. You will be fine.

Actually your a very informed member. And you give good advice.
You could start it with the old plugs and the new coils and wires, but I see no reason to. I would install all the kit and parts and start it up fresh.

I was just playing around...
I know my advise might have been more for those who are paranoid, but that is what I would have done in that instance.
I'm sure you're right and he'll be just fine doing them all together

Funny how some of these questions sound like a pop quiz!
