Installing a new aftermarket (ACT streetlite) flywheel with an OEM clutch and pressure plate. ACT included pressure plate bolts with the kit, but no lock washers. I'm assuming I need to purchase these separately?

I'm under the impression I need lock washers for installing the clutch and pressure plate since the FSM diagram shows them on there.

 

I 'think' the modest quantity of mutilation made by fixing the solidified bolts,with their particularly measured and machined region under the head, may assist with making a finding impact that is regularly achieved with a dowel or tightened cone. Both of the last 2 would add extra machining steps and cost.I figure a hard steel washer would elimate that 'gift' impact referenced in the beginning,as it 'might' go about as a bushing between the 2 mating surfaces. Not certain in the event that a dowel is remembered for the situation. That turning flywheel makes some serious energy there,especially when attempt to move a 4000lb vehicle with tacky tires. Conelike fasteners on a road vehicle comes to mind.Nothing course reading here, simply theory and perception.

You can reuse the existing lock washers on the new bolts

regardless I would use blue loctite on the bolt threads as an additional locking safety factor

Thanks @TeamRX8. I ended up reusing the lock washers without loctite (did use loctite on the counterweight - flywheel bolts though). I'll keep your advice in mind the next time I'm doing a clutch job.
