8 Dead - Then Alive (?)
I experienced the strangest issue on Thursday. Mind you, it was nice here in North Jersey on Wednesday, so it hadn't rained.
I went out to my car to start it and go to work. I turned the key, the dashboard lights came on and then suddenly turned off. Similarly to when you switch a light on and the bulb turns on but then suddenly blows quickly. The car wouldn't start, nothing worked, it was DEAD.
Battery dead? I thought to myself. Here's the kicker: I turned my lights on to see if the battery was dead, I got out of my car and looked at the lights ... they were on. Everything BUT the headlights working? So I get back into my car and attempt to start it ... it starts. My clock, the radio stations, all reset. The DSC off light flashing on the dashboard. So I turned the wheel both ways, turned the car off, then restarted (with no problems) the light went away.
I know this thread may be "Too Long to Read" for most people. However, does anyone have any idea what the hell happened? It seems to have been battery related, however it started without a jump, and the headlights worked.

Your battery connections may be loose. Your starter draws a lot of current upon startup and a bad connaction wont supply the starter with enough juice. All electonics may go haywire for a few seconds, but should be fine within a few moments.
I have a similar problem too but I checked my connections and everything seems to be fine, so there may be anothe problem. I have to check the battery ground conenction, never though about it till now. I think its underneath the bumper somewhere.

Yes I did. They were correct. The cable was loose. Thank you guys.
By the way did anyone get the recall done on their cars for lack of power? I just got it done yesterday. Didn't even know there was one.
