What are the differences between the AT and the MT?

WAIT WAIT WAITTTTTT before you guys start flaming about random stuff, read my post first

I'm asking mechanical, aside from the transmission, and the differently tuned ECU, what are some other differences in reference to mechanics of the AT 6port and the MTs, injector size? are the fuel rail different?,

I know the radiators for a fact is different.
anything else? I know you guys can probably guess where I'm going at here
Summary:
1. Differently tuned EMS
2. 3 pedals
3. Carbon fiber drive shaft
4. Radiator

M/T has CF driveshaft.

S

M/T pwns your A/T.
That technical enough??? :D:

stop dreaming of an engine swap, it's not worth the $$$

mac11 09-25-2007 03:37 PM

You will spend more for an engine swap than you will lose just trading the car in.

MT's also have 3 pedals on the floor. I think your AT only has 2, but I don't know how you roll.

LMAO! I was wondering how long till you showed up.

Razz1 09-25-2007 03:51 PM

Just use the force Luke.

One has one oil cooler the other has two.

mac11 09-25-2007 03:57 PM

I think the 6port/6spd AT's also had 2 coolers.

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 06:26 PM

oh god people.......you're not helping me at all

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 06:27 PM

I have a 6 port, which means.......2 oil cooler, the 3 pedals are no problem,

C/F driveshaft?

I highly doubt MTs pwn my car

Jedi54 09-25-2007 06:28 PM

Yeah we are:
  • Number of oil coolers
  • number of pedals
  • Carbon Fiber drive shaft.

SEE, that's 3 things right there!

wanna bet? :D: My M/T > your A/T

Brettus 09-25-2007 06:36 PM

so - you want to put a 6 speed in your AT . Why don't you just ask the obvious question ?

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 06:43 PM

I did, anyone in their right mind would have figured it out.......

anymore?

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 06:47 PM

.......damn, give me a quater mile? :)

Jedi54 09-25-2007 06:48 PM

newp.
Depends, do I get to use my new NoS?

Brettus 09-25-2007 06:51 PM

Be the first to do it Taja - then you can come on here and tell us how much pwnage you wreak on all the A\Ts

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 07:03 PM

^ oh cmon, I wont do a terrible thing like that! they all my friends,

no I'm just asking because I have an MT tranny that this guy(not on forum) gave to my uncle's shop because he put an m7.......er.......wtf is it's name, the old supra's engine, and my uncle said his gear is in good shape, I have the gear and the EMS, but I'm sure the drive shaft isn't going to be that much no? and since I get free labor(myself labor) I figured, what the hell

dillsrotary 09-25-2007 07:07 PM

wait wait wait....... what? you have a used supra 6 speed transmission that you want to put in your 8?

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 07:17 PM

wtf, I have a used rx-8 6spd tranny, where the hell did u get that from, he put a 5spd tranny with a supra engine in his 8

dillsrotary 09-25-2007 07:22 PM

i missunderstood because you didn't state your uncle's car was an rx8.

I have an MT tranny that this guy(not on forum) gave to my uncle's shop because he put an m7.......er.......wtf is it's name, the old supra's engine, and my uncle said his gear is in good shape"

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 07:28 PM

not my uncle's car, a customer's car (he runs a shop)

Brettus 09-25-2007 07:35 PM

something else you will have to consider is the diff ratio .....

The only major complication with this is the ECU as far as I can see

tajabaho1 09-25-2007 07:41 PM

from my understanding, because I did it once, the MT ecu will work on a 6 port AT, at least for the 1st 4 gears that I tried out........however, the car was highly unstable and will shut down after about 10 minutes of driving, lets not go there again before everyone come pwn my ass again

but as I said, I already have the ECU, differently ratio I completely forgotten, do we have different ratios?
