Stall Converter?

Would this tranny and engine combo benefit from the addition of a stall converter? Or with the power output so low--would it be worth it?

I've thought about a higher stall, maybe 3000+. Only problem is, it would have to be custom, or a modified version of the stock one (which costs nearly $1000, btw). Having no previous experience with "low" torque automatics, I have no idea if there's enough power there. But since the car is making >90% of peak torque for much of rev range, it could work.

Alot of people seem to think that the only thing a TC gains you is greater acceleration with a brake launch. But in my experience, acceleration improves fairly significantly even without the launch. Efficiency generally goes up for a custom unit, thus putting more power to the wheels. I would definitely get a tranny cooler though.

flash stall appears to be around 2500rpm. hard to see in first, but easy in second. Similar results from holding the brake.

The auto really doesn't get up and move until 3-3.5k. Haven't seen a dyno, so I don't know any numbers. I'm going out of town this weekend, but I plan to contact some manufacturers and see what they'd recommend when I get back.

EDIT: just did some more stall speed tests, it actually looks more like 2000-2200 for flash stall.

Therm,
Had a chance to contact any manufacturers yet? I have been following this thread because I wouldn't mind getting a different TC to help with the acceleration.
What modifications would a machine shop do to a TC to increase the stall speed?

I've emailed a couple companies, and am waiting for responses. It's difficult not knowing what transmission is in the car, and MNAO has no clue apparently. With the car producing so little torque, I'm wondering what size converter would be best. Smaller would stall higher, but I don't know how well it would hold up to the extra heat and higher revs, and it would be less efficient. I will post info as I get it.

Got an email back from ProTorque. As soon as I get off this graveyard shift, I'm going to give them a call.
