We sponsor the Falken RX8 drift car. It's not a "regular" RX8.

Read this,,,,
Falken Tire Mazda RX-8

If I were you I would do SCCA SOLOII Auto crossing or try your hand at NASA HPDE. Both of those programs will give you driving experience that you need.
Being the age that you are it would be beneficial to learn how to control the car at higher speeds. Rather than just try and do it on the street or in a parking lot.
You have years of experience and knowledge to gain.

I drive an AT and do very well with both these programs.

So your saying that 8's can be good for drifting cause I would much rather drift in my 8 then go buy a fc or something

That clutch is good for 600+ WHP. Are you going to get that out of your RX8, No.

Wrong car if your planning to drift, let alone the transmission.

Get a GTO, insane amount of toque to be had, for little money spent.

Back on topic, I've got an AT, VERY disappointing in terms of toque/off-the-line performance (Hell, a mazda 6 can beat the AT RX8 off the line. Maybe because l used to drive a V8?). But, the car still puts a smile on my face every day l drive it. I've installed an AEM intake, grounding kit, radiator/air diverter, Borla exhaust and not one of them has added any real performance gains. The thing is, this car is tweaked so well out of the factory, that the only real power adders are your FI kits. This isn't like a GTO, where you can add a CAI and a mafless tune and gain 50-80kw.

I'd say if you really NEED more power, go with the manual. Otherwise, just mod the auto for the fun of it. Just don't expect too much out of bolt-on parts...

Oh, and get a starter button, best mod ever!

You should mod it. Ive been hearing a lot from my friends "why mod it when its an auto" etc. but now i dont really give a crap haha i juss do it anyways. Also i am willing to part it out when i sell it so i dont see too much money loss.

im modding my AT but im keeping all my stock parts. im trading in my car for an MT next may and i'll be swapping all my parts over.
