I did it with a red and black boot and it looks good.

 

Thanks to stenobeth for hooking me up with the console and boot. I pillaged the boot off of her console (no heater switches and I didn't feel like dremeling).

Very simple mod. I popped the silver plastic ring off the **** and that gave the boot a good inch of additional wiggle room.

Forgive the poor lighting and iphone camera shot. Best I had tonight.

 

clean man, looks great. i just blew all my cash on LED conversions. but boots up next!
