Could it be the Torque Converter? This happens to be too when the it drops from 3rd to 1st gear when you punch down the throttle.

I just love when ppl are surprised, even up set about their low dyno numbers, it's even funnier when it's an automatic.

Serves you right for buying an automatic, double whammy with the rx8 auto combo.

no touch backs.

I got my car back from dealer, new coils 2 new spark plugs , new motor mounts and 2 recalls were done 3305g and 4206F as far as vacumm test nothing was said they told me that everything was ok with the car but i still felt something like rough idle.A lot less but it was still present, will take the car to the dyno this week to verify WHP again,i got my emanage ultimate on standby for now Funny thing .the dealer where i bought the car, where i used to take it to service they told me that the recall 3305G was done by them, thats why y stopped taking the car to them, liars and thats why the car never worked right.

wow. So Emanage Ultimate does not help at all? Had the limited problem with my Blue emanage too. I thought it would work if I get Ultimate version... Just bought the Hyper REV Vol 127 RX-8 mag. They had a review on RE Amemiya turbo kit for 4AT. They use HKS F-CON V Pro. Maybe that is the way to go?

My old 2nd gen 146 fwhp manual transmission 2nd gen RX-7 when it was completely stock dyno'd at about 110 rwhp. You have an automatic which takes more power. If your car makes the 198 or whatever hp it's rated at (and it doesn't!) that it should and you lose at least what I lost, you'd dyno around 150 rwhp or so. Keep in mind that the auto takes a bit of power though so it should be lower than this. You may be a little low but since we see alot of variation in RX-8 dyno numbers, I wouldn't consider your numbers out of the ordinary.

A manual transmission RX-8 will dyno anywhere from about 175-195 depending on the car. I have no doubt they are all actually about the same but for some reason not consistent on dynos. These cars are rated at about 40 hp more than yours and lose less to the transmission so your numbers based on this too are not off from what should be expected.

Hi,so you think the car still meets specifications for an A/T?
I did a couple more runs with the gtech and its very consistent on the hp numbers and the torque,+ 1/4 mile there was this only one time that the gtech show 211 hp and the 1/4 mile was 15.something.
When i bought the car the dealer told me about 210 and went last week to the dealer to complaining about rough idle and loss of power they did 2 recalls on the car ask them about the HP of the car and told me 210HP i realize that they know less of the car than most of the members of this forums. The funny thing here is that we pay like $8,000 or more for the cars than in continental US,they are selling cars like mine for more than $20,000 still.I am payin $600 mothly for it and still got 3 more years to go so imagine when i found out theyr true HP.I felt ripped, but i still like the car but no for its power will leave it alone if the dealer still says that nothing is wrong with it well will use it as my dayly driven car and will get something faster and easier to play with.I will see later by the way do you know someone that can tune a emanage ultimate for rx8?In PR icant find anyone that haved tuned an original RX8.

If you've got the 4 port engine then it really isn't out of the ordinary compared to other dyno's that we've seen. The thing that you need to get away from is putting faith in dyno numbers. When it comes down to it, it's nothing more than a number on paper. It doesn't tell you much useful information. Since different dyno's also give different readings, this proves you can't put any trust in any of them. People tend to only believe the highest number dyno's out there and then make excuses when they use lower producing dyno's. The fact of the matter is that there is only 1 accurate hp number. When there are different machines that supposedly measure this standard but aren't consistent with it, it's hard to put any faith in them. A dyno is only a tool for tuning and that's it. It is also only good to use for before and after comparisons to see if anything made a difference. The actual number it gives you is irrelevant. It's not intended for that and not accurate anyways. Too many people only care about dyno numbers at full throttle and I laugh at them.

I do have to ask, how did you like the way the car drove before you got it dyno'd?
