just for clarification...

is there any REAL way to get major HP upgrades for us AT guys? I did some looking and i saw that Pettit Racing has (what seems like to me) a SC or something for AT's. i really dont know all that much about cars except for the most part that Hp=better acceleration. im looking into doing some major stuff to my car if i can. if not, then i guess im stuck with just the basic mods.

The Petit supercharger will be the only out of the box solution we'll have. Hymee was working on one, but he's been ill. Richard Paul's axial flow s/c'r will work with some adaptation (intake manifold) and tuning. Custom turbo or nitrous is always an option. But Petit's will have the best $/pain ratio.

exactly what he said^

petit will probably be the best option in the future for us a/t's in the future.

also if you are really serious you could contact mazport because i seem to remember them saying that they could adapt one of there turbo kits to an a/t with some work

last time i checked, torque is what gives you faster acceleration

On their small prototype blower they put down 190hp and 225ish(?) torque. The production kit is supposed to have a bit bigger blower I think. For cost check their vendor forum (at the top of the main page here), I believe it was stated in there. Even with the 190/225 numbers you'd see at least 2 seconds off your 0-60.

i dont think this is supposed to be for just hp # its supposed to just blend with the natural feel of the car and give the driver a funner experience.

if #s is what youre after that wait until stage III.

I'm after higher numbers. Higher numbers means more fun

Stage III is what I want...hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg.

Supposedly there should be 3 stages offered eventually for the 4 port motors and 3 stages offered for the 6 port motors. Don't worry, they should have you covered.

If I'm not mistaken, sgrenesis has this one installed on his car. Not too much power gained from it.

However, he has a 4 port AT and so far turbo gains from the 4 port seem to be lacking.

Honestly, I wonder how well the mazsport kit would do on a 6AT...it's the same engine, and I'm sure scott could handle a little extra work.

you just made my day, but wouldnt the revs be higher than the 8000 limiter on my car? is that an issue that i need to see to, or should it be ok? this is looking good (at least for me) but if it doesnt then we all still have a SC or the twin screw.

you can set the rev limiter a little more back on some EMUs like interceptor i think, but its not recommended on the ATs that the other guys say. i forgot who said it but they were saying stuff like certain parts on our car cant handle it(like the tranny) =p

the EMU can kill the speed limiter too.. theres peeps in asia going 130+

My own personal opinion on the issue of our Rev limit on the tranny is that it can handle the 9k rpm easily but problem is that it wont be able to handle it for a long extened period of time (re:years or +10k miles). My theory with most things mechanical is that they tested it, and found it could but not for that long and with some testing found that the 7.5k rev limit gave the tranny the longest life cycle.

well thats not exactly good news, but lets say that i went ahead and got the SC or turbo, what else would i need for my car? i hear a lot about getting new suspension, but im not entirely sure. is there anything else im missing? (the money is taken care of so thats not an issue)
