just bought her.

I'm proud to say i'm the owner of an 05 mazda rx8 (auto). Going from a chevy hhr to this is a nice change. anyways i want to figure out what i want to add to it this spring. Tint is a must, other than that i want to get a cia and aftermarket exhast (dual fo sure). I've been looking on youtube at the videos owners have posted. but am still not sure what company i should go with, or which site to order from.

Welcome to the club.

For Exhaust I'd aim for the Borla, I own it and I love it!! Nice deep sound and definatly not rice. Just do a search and there are several exhaust clip threads so you can compare the sounds and find the one that you love/like the best. You wont find HUGE if any gains in HP so if you visit a site that claims to net you +25hp for their exhaust they are blowing smoke up your tail pipe.

Now for Intake oi, to many to chose from. I have the Racing Beat and I like it, unsure what is more popular around here since so many different companies make them for our cars (though some are just rip offs of each other lol).

And a HHR? Where you drunk when you signed the papers for that thing?!?!?! Well could of been worse.. could of had a Neon.

ya an hhr. ya see that was my first car and stat being said my dad wanted me to get something moe practicle/more fuel efficient. It wasnt that bad though it was top of the line, leather sun roof, fogs, and a pioneer sound system. I tinted the windows added a cgs cold air intake and eibach pro kit to,

Has anyone juct changed the mufflers on their 8? that would be cheaped than a full exhaust. I'm a fan of Flowmaster

Congrats!

Before you buy anything, make sure you do your research. If you are thinking about getting an exhaust for performance gains, don't. They are very minimal. But if you are looking for a better sound, then go for it.

ya i gotta say i'm going for sound. cai only gives you sound when your on the gas, i want a low growl at idle so an exhast is the way to go, or even better....both.

Do some searching around for a better price than 900. A quick search pulled up one for $670 at rx7store.net.

I just recently got an HKS exhaust for my 04 8... and I love the way it sounds and feels. It has the rumble at idle and when you get on it, it just roars to life.

I haven't done much modding to the car as of yet because of money restrictions but never the less i haven't been disappointed with any of my purchases.

I went for a single instead of Dual Exhaust though...

What area are you in by the by.

Exhausts are tough to pick out because it all boils down to what YOU like. there's a few great threads on here and youtube has tons of videos.

Good luck!

How dare you refer to this group as a cult Now this "club" may have cults within it and I can think of a couple

Well what will it be? Have you finally decided to go FI? Your twin is quiet - daddy must have read him the riot act.

more like he's having flash backs of his thai experience haha

but yeah, the holidays are finally over so now i have a lil' more cash in my pocket - i wouldn't say i'm completely on board for FI yet, but i'll def be setting up for it! This year i plan on completing my NA set up and getting the Int-X by SSX+1. I can't freakin' wait.
