TX Cobb AP on an AT?

Anyone with an AT running an installed Cobb AP?

If so...where did you get your base map from? Cobb is less than helpful...

Kane is going to do the tune for me but I have to have a "base" map to be able to install and log data. I am just looking for better throttle response and a smoother idle really. Nothing to complicated....for now...

The base map comes with the Cobb unit.

Kane is your friend.

I bought the Cobb from a club member that had MM tune his Shinka...only 3 maps on the unit and they are all MM MT tunes. No base maps....guess MM deleted them???

I don't remember Cobb ever offering a 4port map. 6port MT only
Since Kane is tuning yours, does he have a base 6port (unlocked). if Kane does not, the only way, and i'm probably wrong here, is to get an unlocked un-modified base 6port AT map from MM.

EDIT:

Wait a minute here. I see you have your 8 listed as a 2007 VR. if it is a 2007, it's going to have a 6port AT. I can't frigging read sometimes. Doh.
Still Cobb didn't support 6port AT's. just the 6port MT's.

Thanks 09...

So are you saying that my Cobb AP is worthless? That noone with a 6 port AT is running a Cobb? Or is it that I have NO choice but to go through MM??? I was trying to do everything I could to avoid that.

Unless you can find someone with a unlocked base map for an 07' AT you may be screwed. I would talk to Kane about it and see what your options are. Otherwise you will have to go to MM.

Just wanted to chime in on this thread. I purchased an AP last year for my 06 AT and tuned it myself using Cobb's access tuner race. You have to request a copy from them here:
http://www.cobbtuning.com/accesstune...st-s/70716.htm
I was able to do a basic tune on my RX-8 and improve acceleration and drivability. However, the idle tables do not appear to work properly on the program. I was unable to increase idle through the software. Overall, it was a great investment and now I can shift at 8500 RPM like the manual transmission cars. The 6 speed Aisin automatic can handle it!
Hope this helps!

Yeah Access Tuner Race has a base map for automatics. When you request the program from Cobb, you specify your transmission type and they send you the appropriate program+base map. I've been running my own tune on my 06 automatic for over a year now. Works great! =D

Apparently neither does Cobb

But it's true, you can order Accesstuner Race for all the AT models; 2004/2005/2006-2008, which will provide you with at least a stock-type base map

Recieved the software from Cobb today and downloaded. Looks like there is a BASE map already programmed into the software. Saved it to my Map file on my PC then used AP Manager 2.0 software to search for maps...Map is now installed on AP. I just hope the map is right??? Going to install the AP today using the ATR map and keep my fingers crossed...

so this would give you a base map for an AT even if you purchase a used Cobb? It looks like you just have to enter a serial # and basic mods to get a general map to download correct?

Read up...already done through Cobb. I can not garuntee that the Cobb can make a noticable difference but I do feel like since I installed the base map my throttle response is better...nothing to verify this though.
