Any A/T owners have a tranny cooler?

I was wondering if any of the auto owners here have had a transmission cooler installed. I'm thinking about getting one and figure it probably wouldn't hurt (maybe excpet when I take the car in for warranty work) ...

Yes. I had the dealer install one for me and the dealer wrote on the work order that this would not void warranty. I live in Las Vegas and drove the 8 during the extream heat wave that we experienced this summer with no problems. I have past experience with automatic vehicles that do not have transmission coolers so this was one of the first mods I had done. To answer your next question, yes the dealer also installed synthetic transmission oil.

Did you actually buy the tranny cooler from the dealer, or buy one aftermarket and have them install it?

Yes I pruchased the trans cooler from the dealer so that he did not have a complaint with my asking him to insure that my warranty was not voided because of this mod. I also had a second oil cooler installed at the same time and purchased from the dealer.

Warranty is not effected as long as you installed the auxilary transmission cooler "in-line" with the factory cooler.

Stick with stacked plate designs (like B&M or Hayden).
