If it was R26B then it wouldnt be the first, lol ... BMI Racing would've beaten them to it.

steering rack is a ford racing none assited rack, and i moved it foward 2inchs to clear oil pan...as for geometry.. i made new end links and angled rods so steering will still be spot on..although lock to lock is shorter and it has a lower ratio..so way better for aggressive driving habits...brakes are stoptech 4 piston multi section rotors and stock calipers out back but running slotted rotors. i got him sponsored by carbon in motion,so he hasa full body kit and i can not wait to see it in my hands. as for cooling he has a ron davis rad with spearco intercooler all vee mounted on custom t6 alloy panels and channels. all wiring is color coded to mazda diagrams so if a tech ever needs to diag something all the colors match up to relay locations. there is so many details that i could tell you about or if you have questions just ask me..and yes..this is the worlds first rb26dett swap.. i had two friends and me search for over a month and no one has tried it..mostly due to x member i think..lol.. o and im using a after market sway bar that sits wider so to clear new member and oil pan. weight was only increased by 176 pounds foward..so ballance is not greatly effected.

This right here, is what i love to see from a builder/build. No half ***, just throw it together and make it work bs.

Nice build and good luck. Can't wait to see it finished.

rack will have to go foward

placement of the rack is not the issue...issue will be stringing the steering shaft through the driver header and fabbing spindles that will have new longer arms for ball joints to mount to...for the new location of rack, other wise steering ratios get fucked.the ford rack seems to be the most compact unit and have a good mounting system in relation to what we are trying...another cute issue is the ls does fit in the bay...i have measured..but you will have to mod the foward truss on both sides to clear headers....so be ready for some noching action..lol... you can add me on facebook my name is damian thomas britton... my picture tile is me in a ninja turttle outfit planking a 800hp evo motor...why? cause i was bored at work...lol

Subscribed. I like to see different swaps done, even though my heart lies to Rotary. I may have to show this to a buddy of mine who likes the 8s body but prefers Nissan powerplant.

It is coming along great though.

Finally got some more work done on the project. Mainly working on fabricating the firewall for Transmission clearance. Will be working on new crossbeam for the engine mounts and will hopefully have the engine set.

...Will work more on the welds next week, but the crossbeam is in place.
