So now several project are nearing completion. There are the superchargers like Pettit, Hymee, and Axialflow (RP). And now there are turbocharger kits like PTP that offer more substantial power bumps. My question is: what's next? A twincharger system? The plumbing would probably be complicated. What about intercoolers? Would keeping an air-to-water IC like the SC kits have be best or at the higher power ends do you have to go air-to-air?

I worked on one mustang that had the twin setup, and if I remember correctly, the supercharger complete setup was done first. Then, the turbocharger was set up, but it had a Y connector that joined the supercharger pipe about one foot before the pipe goes into the intercooler. Please do not even ask me about the pressure regulator or the blowoff valves, multiple applied. The dyno looked similar, but better, then the ford gts.

I would be happy to see a kit come on to the market with a ecu that will hold its tuning maps. So far Hymee's looks like the best I think he is using the motec.

I don't think the motec is going to be part of the kit, though. Too expensive.

But I want to see this axial-flow thing. So interesting, and so small.

It would do well in a twin setup I think given the size.

I have been keeping my eye on this ProCharger kit (www.rotormaster.com.au) ever since I heard about it. I was a passenger in a HSV GTS that was ProCharged and the thing pulls unbelievably all the way to the redline. I was going to wait for Mazda Australia to release their turbo RX-8 SP, but now I am leaning more towards the ProCharger.

Rotormaster is really famous in Australia and has a Triple Turbo, Triple Rotor (20B) RX-7 drag car that runs 1/4 mile in mid 7s. He was the first person in the world to turbocharge an RX-8, and running reliably because he had a prototype engine management system that had full control of ignition and fuel. He dumped the turbo because he couldn't get it to flow enough air or something. Anyway it couldn't make enough power (not enough for him anyway), and never made the turbo kit available. Looks like now the ProCharged car is finished and the kit is ready. I read a post (on Australian rx8club.com.au site) from a guy who drove this prototype car and he sounds impressed.

I don't think there is any point in twincharging a street car. Reliability is everything for a daily driver. Rotomaster stage 2 kit would be more than enough for me.
