What engine preparations before FI? How much boost can she take?
So... before someone turbos/supercharges their renesis, what preparations are necessary?
We dont have a valvetrain to strengthen, no pistons or rods... So what is worth strengthening - or is she good out of the box?
And how much boost can she take?

that question is WAY WAY WAY too broad to answer...
how much hp would be a better question.
ex: i've seen guys put down 400 whp @ 20-22 psi, so they can handle that much...
i put down the same at about 13 psi. if i turned my boost up to 20, the motor would blow sky high unless i was running race gas, water injection, or whatever... (keep in mind, i'm talking rx7's)
now for the renesis, i think you've got enough gas (fuel injector size) to support 250-260 whp safely, without over working them. if you want more than that, then bigger injectors are going to be necessary.
internally, the motor is good to go. i don't know what the renesis is good for yet, but i'd imagine 300 whp with proper fueling would be pretty easy to get.
tuning is the key to a reliable engine. i've seen (and owned) 400 whp commuter cars, and i've seen 250 whp motors bow up. tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning tuning
ummmm....did i mention tuning is important? :p
