look into Bryan@ BNR. He is working on my turbo upgrade, and it looks to be very promising.

Too difficult to call honestly... the 3071R is probably better suited to the car and can produce more horsepower, however with water-cooling and sufficient porting the upgraded TD06 is probably capable of producing a 300+ whp RX-8 that should be as reliable. The other issue to consider is price and availability. The TD06 even with modifications will be cheaper than the 3071R upgrade and almost certainly will be delivered more quickly.
As the MM upgrade is currently going on indefinite hiatus (as per Jeff's last posts) this isn't really a question that needs to be asked unless you are considering buying paul's kit from the FS thread. I highly recommend you buy that btw just to make his sig go away. :P
I would not recommend getting any GReddy upgrade that does not include water cooling however. The caking and constant rebuild issues of the TD06 won't go away without changes to the turbos cooling.

No prob... I understand where you are coming from... but
As of right now, I believe MM said he is going to finish up what kits are outstanding, then he's done... So I think we can set this option aside for now.
I agree with you, the MM Upgrade is a great kit, but the next person might not think so.
In the end... it's just an opinion. Relax, everyone is entitled to one. Just because YOU think it's the better GReddy upgrade, doesn't make it fact.

You know what your absolutly right and for that matter any kit is better than the MM upgrade. Seeing as you can actually buy another turbo system and MM's has pretty much been a figment of imagination and is now a thing of the past.
However I will say that it is fact the watercooled garret with a quick spool and higher boost/hp is better and as such I fill is undebateable. There is no one thing that the greddy is better at.

I have tried and I'm in the middle of buying a house so my funds are locked untill after closing(too much money moving around). Ither way 1 mth from now I will be getting a turbo from either paul or getting a new GReddy kit and having bryan(BNR) rebuild it.

I like my fluid rebuild. I logged almost 300g/sec maf reading at only 5 psi. That is around 280RWHP. Saw around 320 g/sec at ~7psi. It will last longer than the original greddy turbo too. How much? Won't know until it poops out. Initial impressions of it are great rebuild quality(pics in fluids thread), zero shaft play, turbine wheels spin like butter, very fast spool, flows more at lower psi. Good stuff.

Yes, the clue is in the subtext.....I'm not making any more of these things, not at that price, anyway.
I lost money on every single one and I'd have to sell 20 more just to break even, so I can't see any reason to continue.
I'd have to say he's done.

Geesh. The aftermarket for the RX8 is shrinking fast. First Mazsport goes under, no more GT3071R, I hear Fluid Motorsports might have a law suit on their hands, etc. By the time I join the service are there going to be any vendors left?
