variable length itb's?

Just another one of my ideas I'm throwing out there, has anyone done variable length itb's like seen on the 787B? I'm aware of how tuned the stock intake manifold is, but it surely can't be better than itb's for top end (and maybe midrange). Variable length would allow for the best all around power by tuning the trumpet length, and although you'd probably lose some low end the gain could be worth. Haven't seen many discussions on itb's on a renesis and the ones I've seen are very old.

You're already getting over 100% VE with the intake as it is, while still being drivable the 99% of the time you're not at full throttle. I could maybe see putting twin throttles in the middle of the UIM before the secondary port runners split off, but it would be weird to try tuning velocity stacks in that position.

I've come in to retune a car on a stock intake AFTER they tried ITBs (one length). They made less power EVERYWHERE in the range with ITBs - hope that helps.
