I think this could be a good idea if we, compile info about the RX8 and turbos from around the world. So, I ask you to please fill out/answer as many of the questions as you can. Miles on motor before turbo: 32,000
Miles with turbo: 20,000

Turbo kit: Greddy with mazdamaniac GT3071R turbo upgrade
Fuel management: accessport
Lowest PSI and highest PSI you run: 6 psi, 12 psi
Normal operation PSI: 9 - 10 psi
Shop tuned or self tuned: MazdaManiac
Dyno'd HP/TQ: ~307 whp, 245 tq @ 9 psi
Fuel upgrades is any: OEM baby.
Cooling upgrades if any: mazmart water pump, AEM cai, 100% water in radiator w/ water wetter, greddy oil pan.
Exhaust type or diameter: full 3" ID turboxs

Driving style: aggressive
Total cost: About 4k installed, but it goes up to ~6-8k with all the other supporting mods (though many are not turbo specific)

Love the power & torque. Economy similar to NA (unless you burn rubber all the time)

Only issue appears that it develops a slight hesitation only on very light throttle @ appox 4000rpm. Seems OK on first tune.

Personal comments about your setup. (likes/dislikes) - Ron's Perf did a great job of installing, factory looking install. Never drove it NA, but with Turbo it is perfectly fast for me, has a lot of get up and go compared to my old 68 Mustang GT, 98 Cavalier RS with 350 Crate Motor, 87 300ZX Turbo (all stock). I think overall the fastest to drive of the three on the street.

Trying to get more power out of it but dont know what to do now.
I have a spare engine which i'm goign to rebuild stronger and probalby stick a HKS TO4Z on it my friend and i are debating about whether or not we should get rid of the intake manifold with the flaps or keep it i want to keep it cause i think that is what gives the car no lag when you hit the pedal. need to get a stand alone ecu in but waiting to we build the engine first.
the wastegate spring on the Trust turbo is crap so we put a stronger spring to help it hold boost better.
even with a bigger radiator car has a slight water cooling issue.
can only do a few laps at a time before water temp is too high.
once the turbo was put on had to change my brake setup right away.
car was not stopping well.

yeah! when i first got the turbo, i tho that i know everything, and drive the car like a stupid ass! and when the engine blown on the side of the road, i did't even think it's engine problem, so i was try to run spark and fuel test myself. think about it now i feel very stupid! LOL

Wastegate location on Esmeril Racing Kit is a bit low to the ground, lowered cars might run into problems. TurboXS Catback hangs pretty low to ground near the differential fins as well. Other than that, so far so good. Will update once tuned.

Personal comments about your setup. (likes/dislikes) I love having boost "On Command", passing cars on the highway is too easy, accelerating from a stoplight is a little scary.

As with any major modifications, FI especially, it gets a little annoying to constantly have to watch AFRs and have an eye on your gauges, but the Cobb takes a lot of the worry away.

I enjoy the numbers side of things. I like data logging and fuel maps and all the mundane crap. My car runs very quiet (possibly more quiet than stock) and I like that. I run 275 NT-01s and have no traction issues whatsoever with a little bit of throttle control (crappy pavement withstanding). As I've grown more comfortable with all the stuff added to the car, I've had a lot of fun doing setup and tuning work.

Have set my shift beeper to 7700rpm so it is no longer a 9000rpm screamer which is good in some ways but not so in others .
Finding i get a bigger thrill taking short bursts to 6000-7000 in 2nd than I did taking it to 9000 .
Cant see any need for more power but that may change over time .

Comments: I dont drive hard but I do use boost. I dont beat my car up but there are times I floor it to keep it running good. I hit the twisties once a month. My car is driven at the most 3 times a week. I love the boost and the tune is just like OEM. For a car this lite and the added hp makes it such a fun ride. After the catless midpipe the boost is much quicker and comes on around 2k. The boost default back to 5psi around 7600k rpm but I uually shift at that point so I hardly exp the drop. The boost will go up to about 9-10 just for the experience once I set up my boost controller. Right now it looks stock and no bov sounds makes it a great sleeper.

Turbo make the Renesis run like it should have from the factory. Had to upgrade the iginition to LS7 coils to keep from blowing the stock ones. Recirc valve was a must (but not included in the Greddy kit). Water cooled turbo runs 100% better. Summit racing has some great formable, adhesive backed heat sheild that makes the install much cleaner.

Like: The power, even at 4.5 psi the car is alive. It's the way mazda should have done it.

Dislikes: Current Turbo has considerably lag below 3.5k rpm. I honestly wish I could run a catalytic convertor but nothing seems to survive.
