Good luck with your tunning issues, are you going above 6psi?

They tried 11psi but too much breakup. I think they will push a lot more than 11 once it's worked out

Because I haven't thrown enough $$ at mine yet. Some day though.

Ignition breakup past 5k above 6psi. Towing car to shop to figure out what's up with ignition breakup

So that's 11whp above a greddy @ 8psi and 13Tq below the same Greddy.
(i know, big deal and not worth mentioning)

I'm lazy and didn't read. Which Ign are using and have any logs?

@ 7 psi it made 250rwtq, which peaked early @ 4500rpms.

Seeing as this should continue to raise when the issues are worked out, it should will be well north of the goals..

The 425rwhp car only made 265 rwtq @ 11psi.. HP is just torque x rpm. More torque you can make, and the higher you can carry it in the rpms generally you make more HP..

That is why the HP is low, because the torque was made really early, and probably dropped sharply in the high rpms.

The car did survive 9 hours of dyno pulls, and still runs/drives, its getting closer...

olddragger 01-18-2012 10:00 AM

9 hours of dyno pulls----damn!
Solid tune then.
I rather have TQ than hp anyway---within reason of course. The under the curve power is a much more fun car to drive anyway.
Glad you are doing this right OP---good luck man and keep us informed!

The hp is low because there were "issues" . No sugar coating please.

You are reading too far into what I wrote...

I guess I should have said " That is why the HP is low, because the torque was made really early, and probably dropped sharply in the high rpms from the misfires.."

while you're at it why not paint a more realistic picture of your 9 hour dyno comment too :eyetwitch

Cars up for sale now as I've been overseas for six months and will be out here for another year and have no chance to drive the vehicle.

I'm also cutting my losses before I go even deeper down the rabbit hole in this never ending story as I'm continuously being required to futher upgrade parts to hit the originaly desired goal.

The transmission is almost useless as it takes an entire second or two to shift like stock but the extra power exacerbates the experience. I thought about a Level10 transmission and converter but decided not to since I won't be driving the vehicle anyways. If the COBB needs another tune, I would need to ship it to AZ again as RRR (Rotary Racing & Reliability) couuldn't figure out how to make it work but still had no problem charging me $500 just to sit on the dyno with thumbs up their ass.

So anyone taking on this project should buy my car as the parts only have a weeks worth of abuse on them and you'd be getting a huge discount and save yourself a huge headache.

X7rotor 10-14-2012 10:59 AM

Cut your losses and help me go forced induction ill cover shipping for the turbo parts.

9krpmrx8 10-14-2012 12:56 PM

Proper, prior planning. No ones fault but your own.

X7rotor 10-14-2012 12:58 PM

This should be a sticky to show what the definition of ignorance is.

9krpm, you'd see from the first sentence that I'm selling the car mainly because I'm working overseas and can't drive the vehicle. Besides my opinion on the car, others might find the car enjoyable to drive. Nothing is mechanically wrong with the vehicle infact the tranmission shifts like it does stock. Just not enjoyable car to drive for my taste

Well excuse me if I offended any fan boys for leaving their cult

Maybe you'd spend your life saving to do what I did to my vehicle but it's just pocket change to me kid

My main reason for selling is because I can't even drive the vehicle due to taking another contract overseas. Yes the tranmission is slow to shift and I don't enjoy driving the car but that is my personal opinion. Others may enjoy driving a turbo 8.

Yeah maybe you'd spend your life saving to do what I did to my vehicle but it's just pocket change to me kid. If I couuld drive it, I might keep it. So retract your "ignorant" statement and go find a fart can for your exahust.

And excuse me if I offended any fan boys for leaving the cult.

And this is why people haven't been overly supportive and nice to you

Your attitude stinks

I'm not the one who responded with personal attacks. His attitude does not require that I use a softer tone

Let me get this straight. I just read through this thread while on the pooper and I'm trying to understand things.

I don't want to be part of your community, but please give me all the good advices.

The car will drive great for you, but it isn't tuned right.

I'm getting rid of it only because I will be overseas, but I really don't like how it drives, but it will be great for you.

I have more money than the Man From Nazareth's father, but I started with the cheapest version of an 8 and don't want to pay for other upgrades.

Did I miss anything?

WingleBeast 10-15-2012 04:27 PM

Yeah as soon as people start bragging about the money they make I am pretty much done ever helping them out. But I think inflated sense of self importance is also one of the top issues destroying our culture. So I may be biased.

your quote change is funny at best I'm no longer in my teens. But surely your just an ignorant retard who'd rather say you make enough money to buy Belgium yet to stupid to listen to people that uhmm well already boosted there cars. If your so smart to make all that cash why can't you comprehend common sense or your head is just to far up your ass you lost brain cells smelling your own farts for to long.

RadRedR3 10-15-2012 08:22 PM

Reality. A bitter pill. *shrugs*. Selling is a great plan.

Nope, I just read through the whole thread as well and from what I'm seeing this 8 should be sold to someone who would have more appreciation for it. As for Von, you should just go buy a Corvette since it requires a lot less time and effort, and you'll have the numbers you want. I may not know much about the RX-8's but I know that Rotaries require a bit of knowledge and comprehension and I'm sticking with my RX-7, but even that is just a stepping stone into something greater.
