def saw it and thought about it but pretty expensive for as rough as it looks and the e-manage BLUE so most likely have to buy the ? ultimate? which is like 600 bucks I think i'd prob give hime 1k for it!!!!

05rex8 01-19-2009 06:33 PM

^ultimate...? how about the accessport..... :uhh:

04RX8man 01-19-2009 06:44 PM

oh yeah...how could i have forgot about that!!!!god damn....it's been a hell of a long weekend....i really need to stop drinking!!! haha

04RX8man 01-19-2009 06:45 PM

and that guy/girl is from Orlando huh should go wave some cash in his/her face and see what i can get him to!

05rex8 01-19-2009 06:48 PM

do it

04RX8man 01-19-2009 06:58 PM

^huh u make a point....off to ebay to send a message.....

oh..05rex8....seeing u bough a used greddy kit right? does this look like a decent kit or does it look beat up? I mean i know it's not going to b perfect however it looks good and used...need to see what's up with that turbo too greddy internals and the "shell" is not prob rebuilt right? Knowing that those Journal bearing turbos are not the best especially without proper oiling and not lettting it "cool" after boost and shut off

nuke0907 01-19-2009 07:02 PM

that does not look like the greddy turbo and that is not a greddy downpipe either. i would stay away.

05rex8 01-19-2009 07:06 PM

It looks like it has been used, thats for sure....Since it has the emanage blue, it probably is a very early kit. Make sure you ask how many miles are on it. You will most likely need the turbo rebuilt. Might as well too while it's off the car. It's a PITA to take off/reinstall.

Also that downpipe looks fubar'd....looks like he had a custom exhaust to mate up with it....
http://i14.ebayimg.com/08/i/001/2b/9b/61aa_12.JPG

You will need a CAI, accessport, all new t-bolt clamps, silicone couplers, probably new bolts and studs, nuts, and gaskets. Also a HKS SSQV BOV or Synapse synchronic over the GReddy one. I would recommend a GReddy oil pan too...makes installing the return line a breeze.

I wouldn't pay more than 1000 for that kit....maybe less.

edit: I guess it's not the actual greddy turbo, just the housing...I read it again....different turbo and had to get the downpipe customized.....I wouldn't buy that for any more than 600 now that I think about it.

zoom44 01-19-2009 07:11 PM

give cash for it minus the turbo and then go buy a different turbo

05rex8 01-19-2009 07:12 PM

^+1

04RX8man 01-19-2009 07:14 PM

^yeah all the above needed is for sure....yeah def not worth the price he's askin if i cold get it for like 600 the MM upgrade may b worth it!!! :)....but may not have that kind of money with having to buy the AP and prob make a downpipe of somesort....maybe i'll give a email to see if he will work with the price but prob just keep on lookin....

05rex8 01-19-2009 07:15 PM

you can get a new downpipe from greddy...not sure how much that will cost tho.

04RX8man 01-19-2009 07:20 PM

hell for the cost i could prob weld one myself buy some pipe and weld i good lookin one....but like i said that turbo is the thing that scares me a little! I guess i'd have to see but like zoom (and u agreed) buy for cash without turbo and then buy a diff turbo would not b a bad deal!

05rex8 01-19-2009 07:22 PM

looks like most of the big pieces are there anyways....just the small things needed adds up, and gets very annoying...trust me, I know.

the turbo may not be bad though....find out what the deal with it is exactly

oh and you will need a wideband AFR gauge and boost gauge....forgot those. boost controller is up to you.

alz0rz 01-19-2009 07:24 PM

yeah i saw this listing a few days ago..

just remember the location and the fact that some people who had their car at a certain shop never had their greddy kit returned.. :dunno:

04RX8man 01-19-2009 07:27 PM

oh yes i now all the extras that i will b needing widband AFR,boost, EGT, oil pressure, coolant temp, boost controller def, AP, etc etc....will see what's happening with the turbo!....

alz0rz 01-19-2009 07:29 PM

you can get EGT and CT from OBD2,, no need to spend $ on them..

don't rush this.

04RX8man 01-19-2009 07:35 PM

^ohi'm in no hurry at all just shopping if not this one another will come along...is that what most ppl are doing? Using the AP to monitor EGT and CT? I know u can monitor A/F Ratio but woud rather have it right in my face....

Just emailed the guy asking about the turbo/downpipe and some general ?'s

05rex8 01-19-2009 07:35 PM

I use my AP for coolant temp

alz0rz 01-19-2009 07:37 PM

you can use the scangauge for anything obd2 - you can view up to 4 at a time.

do not use obd for AFR. it is imperative that you use a wideband o2 sensor and module for the most accurate AFR/Lambda.

05rex8 01-19-2009 07:40 PM

actually the AccessPort is pretty accurate for reading AFR

that is limited to a narrowband sensor that oscillates.

if you're serious you should have a standalone AFR gauge sitting at the most prominent point it can be, the vent defrost pod is a great spot for it.

04RX8man 01-19-2009 07:42 PM

yeah that's what i was planning but i suppose moving to buying 3 gauges then i can buy the (forget the technical name now) middle of the dash gauge pod that holds 3 gauges....
