Angry Stupid turbo kit!

Guys I am about to just throw the car off a bridge!!
I was just in the highway and I was in 4th gear and went into boost to get ahead of this truck! When I heard this loud puff noise from where the turbo is located… the car stalled but didn’t turn off…(maybe cuzz of the intx) I kept driving however now I don’t hear the BOV or the turbo at all………………… I just got home check everything and all seems where it should be!!!
I didn’t go into boost again because I got scared…
Anyone has an idea where or what should I look at ….
Please help me

Sounds like the turbo hose is off or loose. It will look ok when engine is off or at idle, but watch it during boost and you will probably find your problem.

Sounds like a charge tube popped off. Check the coupler at the turbo outlet.

LOL
I had the thing pop off at full 12 PSI boost on the highway, passing the car. It popped soo loud, that I thought i am gonna **** my pants.
decent t-clamps will take care of that for you.

Are you using GReddy's couplers and clamps?

I had my last charge pipe blow off at the TB a few weeks back. Scared the living crap out of me - and I've had pipes blow off before.
This thing was on with a T-bolt, but apparently I didn't get it right.
Of course, I didn't have any tools with me and I was 8 miles from home and the t-bolt didn't come completely off - just enough to make the car run like crap.
I kept getting out and cramming it back on , only to have it puff back off again as soon as I got near atmo.
Note to self - the Renesis runs like crap at low load and 9:1 with the MAF stuck around 100g/sec.

haha, this reminds me of ages ago in my first "sports car" an old Opel Manta 2 litre GTE.

I was driving down the motorway rapidly, when the engine hesitated and began to lose power. As a youngster I thought "screw this... More power!" and floored the throttle.

A big bang and the fact that my windscreen then became covered completely with oil convinced me this was the wrong decision.... whoops.

Spray your charge pipe ends with cheap aerosol hair spray. It works like a cheap glue and helps to hold couplers to charge pipes that don't have beaded edges. If you loosen the t-bolt clamps you can still break the pipes free if you need to change anything.

I did this on my turbo Civic and my turbo Scion and it worked wonders. I always keep an 11mm wrench in the car with me should I blow a pipe that's fastened by a T-bolt clamp. You never know when the pipe can come loose.

If you spray it, and tighten down the T-bolt clamps properly, you shouldn't have any more problems.

^^ Good advice.

I usually keep a 1/4" ratchet and a 7/16 deep socket just for this, but I've only had pipes pop off when I didn't have tools!

Fixed!!
I think I am running to much boost for a DD...(11 to 12 psi)
This might be another stupid question (oh boy, I am full of those lately)
I am not too familiar with Greddy Profec B Boost how do I lower the boost with out affecting my tune or harming my engine

hahaha sorry for all this silly questions
my dad used to be my advisor in cars before he died ... so now I spend ours in internet forums trying to figure out how not blow my engines...

You could also flare you pipe ends and then put the clamp on the small side of the flange. Had this happen on my mx-3 a few times and flaring the pipes fixed it.

i used to put little dots of silicone on the lower side of each pipe. that was there was a 50% less chance of the connection getting loose.

there is a **** on the right. Just turn it counterclockwise to a smaller number. Then push the same **** in to set it.

Is your greddy kit stock? This may be a stupd comment, but I thought turning up the boost on those without some upgrades was a bad idea?

Yeah I know same here haha...

I blew a charge pipe at the track before. My tools weren't accessable and I had to fix everything with just a pair of flat tipped needle nosed pliars lol... They pop plastic tabs pretty well too!

I don’t have a manual and the help option in the software says that it is not compatible with Windows vista…
The previous owner told me to hold the p letter for 5 sec to put it back to the stock map that is in the system.
How do you change it?
