I'll run two for ride-alongs and at tracks that I don't know very well
they come out with just a few bolts so it doesn't take but a second
the windshield is one of the only things that was damaged during removal
it had a good chip in it and while taking it out it turned into a crack

believe it or not you can actually bend that thin metal floor back and forth with one finger
sort of makes you question the structural integrity of a lot of cages out there

Loving this bigtime. Cant wait to drive it;-)

in the process G
the cage will tie in nose to tail but, there are strict guidelines that some of the pieces have to go by
illegal to tie into the strut towers btw

oh and I have no idea what your talking about with that intake setup
I hope you were joking...

Nope, i was not joking.
You don't need a manifold that's designed to be versatile and offer a broad power band when racing.

2 runners that split in 6 ( 1-3 each) and 2 throttle bodies (1 per
rotor) fed by the supercharger
Shouldn't be a problem for the supercharger as long as you have an airbox in front of it.

Still confused

ah, I see now...you're talking about the manifold
I was talking about the intake...dual CAIs

Yep, i'm talking about the manifold.
If you're running below 6k rpm there's something wrong in your driving\gearing

I'm anxious to see what to 5.12 does...never driven with one before
lower manifold is a custom setup already...there was more power to be made there than most people thought
I think you're the only one that runs something similar with the "trumpeted" pipes

I was talking about the intake...dual CAIs
where are my manners?
I didn't share my idea with the class
dual air intakes routed to the oil cooler spots
they will come together in a gradual "Y" shape and leave plenty of straight pipe before the MAF

when we enlarged the throttle body and realized how much we gained that let me know that there is definitely room for improvement in the amount of airflow taken in
a few people have brought it to my attention that some of the Grand AM teams are running a panel filter in the empty area at the bottom of the windshield/back of the hood but, I don't think that will work with the way I'd have to route it to the SC

the only downside of a CAI is the length of the tubing to get it down to take in outside air but, hopefully the double intakes will compensate for that
ideally it would be as short as possible but, to get the air from outside the engine bay that's not really feasible
the amount of air you can pull through makes a HUGE difference in low end power especially but, I really think the restriction is going to be in the TB no matter which setup I go with

of course I'll fab up a single intake setup as well and compare that for all of the inquiring minds
most of these ideas are just that...ideas...nothing is set in stone and I'm exploring all possible options
if anyone enjoys a healthy debate...feel free

Double intake will likely not give you "more" air. The air needs velocity to reach the tb. This velocity is created by the engine sucking in the air. A shorter, larger diameter intake will be better.

Try drinking through two long straws at once, then try drinking through a short fat one.

The grand am cars used a short intake and a panel filter because it had a huge opening to pull air, and the panel filter had way more surface area to do it's job than a cone filter at the end of a pipe would. They were also P-Port with ITB's.

good point fuz
don't think I could pull of the panel filter setup in the windshield location though
maybe it I could fab a mount to put it in the slot for the right side oil cooler...that might work
I'll have to scope it out...still has a good bit of pipe to travel though

I would think that a modified AEM/MS intake would still be fine. 3.25" ID will let a lot of air through.
