Problems removing passenger side motor mount

Problems removing passenger side motor mount

I am trying to remove my turbo and one of the steps is to remove the passenger side motor mount.

I was able to remove the bolts from the mount no problem. I placed a floor jack under the front right corner of the oil pan and I raised the engine to the point that I am lifting the whole front end of the car. I still don’t get enough room to remove the mount.

Anything else I can try?

You are referring to the bracket right?

Ensure you have all the bolts removed should be exactly 4 bolts. Does the bracket even budge? If so it's just a matter of wiggling and maneuvering it out, thats all.

I havent tried to removed the bracket.

I am using Jeff's instructions here: http://www.mazdamaniac.com/upgrade/G...20Upgrade.html

Steps 9-10-11 is what I am trying to do.

I would think that the engine would go up far enough to pull the mount out. Strange.

Yeah, very strange. I only need about 1/2" extra to pull it out.

Does the motor mount bracket need to be removed to take the turbo out?

I don't see it mentioned anywhere in Jeff's instructions.

Yes you need to remove both the bracket and the rubber motormount.
