The Official Overboosted Overlords Club
Well, bracing.... seems to be a new issue with higher power.
After DGRR and the beat down my car took, I pop-ed it up last night to see what is what. Wastegate bracket bolts, completely gone, my wastegate was hanging on by just the eclip, I have a loose motor mount bracket bolt and my powerplant frame shifted back about 1/2".
It was worth it! I just need to find the bolt size for the wastegate bracket and re-tighten everything. I think I shall need to turn the boost down until I can brace the driveline more effectively, things are moving around a bit too much I think.

Yikes! I know you have filled motor mounts... did you use the window adhesive? I was thinking of using a lower 60 durometer UT to fill my mounts.
I think beatrush sells an excellent PPF frame brace. I will be using there transmission and diff brace and am hoping that it is enough with filled mounts. Of course my target numbers are most likely lower then where you are at
Keep the boost up there man!

it shouldnt be the MM. Probably loosened ppf. With the stiffer MM's you do have to check it all once
in a while. Vibration works on thinks over time. SInce I track like I do i end up checking it about twice a year.

Any of you guys use coatings on the IC or IC piping?
I will be using a thermal barrier coating on my SC exhaust pipe. Another member who installed the kit had a problem with that pipe melting things and causing excess heat in the engine bay.
A thermal dispersion coating will also be used on my IC also giving it that stealth black look. I was told that this coating can give the IC 15-20% better efficiency. I am of course not expecting it to help that much but am hopeful.
Lastly I will be using a a "cold air intake" blanket on the cold side of the IC piping inside the engine bay.
Any thoughts or first hand experiences?

That is likely why. With those 8 large studs/nuts the PPF is going to break its mounting tabs before it moves. I use a 3/4" x 36" long breaker bar to clamp those mf'ers down; boo-yah.
Lol---distended jugular veins and all--i can see it now.
One little problem i have had since i install the 09 trans is that the reference for the proper position of the PPF is now gone since I no longer use that little cross bar. And yes I dont think that can be classified as a "brace". Proper PPF positioning can be a little tricky--any hints out there from anyone?

Just got my rx8 back today. Esmeril turbo kit version 4.0 with stage 3 snow performance water/meth injection. Ball bearing turbo upgrade, ignition upgrade. Is a rough idle normal before the ECU is fine tuned? Also I'm having a stutter right before boost kicks in... I think this is because it Is only running the base map atm. Any clue?
I am not sure if I qualify to be in this club
My suggestion would be to start your own thread, Include lots of info about your set up. pictures, pictures, pictures.
Ok I can do that I know every part in my setup and I have lots of pictures on a media disc that I can upload on here. I've never uploaded any pics on here yet is it simple or is there something special I need to do?
Good call.... just seemed low with the mods listed though. I would have thought more around 240-250
Can I ask what your MAF in g/s is?
I am looking forward to dynoing my car in August, once I bump up my boost and clean up the boost profile with my PRofec. I sometimes see my boost dip down into the 4psi range. Right now my fuel pump is slowly dying too so I'm just burning off this tank of gas so I can put my Walbro pump motor in.

wow, Im curious to see what my dyno would look like then... I pull 270ish g/s but I don't have a cat; same catback though. I also plan to upgrade but the 3071 ain't as easy to get ahold of anymore... the MM one at least.
I'm almost curious to sell my SE and try out the AP catback, I heard somewhere that the SE isn't 3" all the way through?
