well i was gonna get the ball bearing but sfr told me that he would rather prefer me not to because it was detonating to quickly. he told me that they actually had to force LAG in the system because it was creating a knock. trust me i really wanted it . but i know that if they turned money down. then they really mean that i didnt need it.

well yesterday i stopped by the shop because they couldnt find my wheel lock key. i couldve sworn it was in the car but i looked every where and it wasnt. they had to take the front right wheel of because it was getting in the way of the manifold and they couldnt install it. by the time i got there the mechanic "ed" had left for the day. so that was a day wasted. but so far they got the piggyback wired up. turbo is in but not the manifold. and also the intake was on also. theytold me that they'll try to push it friday. but if not then tuesday it is. which is fine with me because i still owe him a grand, and planning to pay him on friday.

The comment about "knock" is a bit concerning.

Let SFR tell you what to do as far as break-in or not since it's their kit.

The power steering is having a problem as well as sixth gear.Nothing turbo related. The fact is the test car has about 9,000 miles on it and the motor is still very sound. This Renesis motor is pretty stout.I think it is capable of alot more power.

We have also sold quite a few more kits then Danryl originally reported so hopefully soon some of those guys will get on these boards and tell you how everything is going.

With the turbo we were using, when boost came in at 4000 rpms, the car started to ping(knock,detonate,etc......)We used a boost control solenoid to bring the boost in a little later which elimiated this situation.ON Danrylls car and all future kits we will be using a larger turbo that has a bit more lag. This will alleviate the problem .

On another note,we will be offering the turbo system with the Emanage in the near future which will save some cash.Unfortunately though, it doesnt have the capabilities of the TSI unit so there will be no water injection system for users of the Emanage system.

But isn't the issue lowend torque. I know that isn't a turbos strong point, but still your not giving a chance.

Wait...if your getting deontation and pinging, wouldn't the correct solution be to retune the car? You method of tweaking the setup seems to be revolving around putting things in till it works, instead of bringing the tune of the mapping to match the hardware.

I guess I'm really confused about whats going on here. There is alot of miscommunication going on. I also don't know very much about forced induction, but what I do know seems to go against the grain of what your doing.

My question to the ping issue is, if the SFR kit even comes with larger injectors, can't they flow enough fuel in the lower rev range to prevent this?

Or is it that the turbo is so large that it simply won't develop full boost until 4K anyway?

Also, can you provide more clarification why you don't recommend the ball bearing option? Full boost at 4K as opposed to say 3200 is a definite difference.

Thanks.

I think their is some misunderstanding...........We did get detonation but only as the boost started to come in.Adding fuel and retarding timing didnt help the situation so we had to alter the way the boost comes on.This ultimately alleviated the problem.

Can you control timing and fuel at the rpm you were having issues with??
