Three dots (...) is known as an ellipsis. I do not think it means what you think it means. :)

D1GT-x8 06-03-2005 11:24 AM

hahaha its just how im always use to typing dont mind me

D1GT-x8 06-03-2005 11:26 AM

yeah i just hope i can tell you guys everything thats good about this kit....... so i wont be the only one here that'll experiece it.....

BlueRenesis82 06-03-2005 11:30 AM

I'm amazed that it's taken them so long, and for like $2k more that the greddy kit, I would thnk that the for the same price you could get more out of the greddy. IMHO

D1GT-x8 06-03-2005 11:46 AM

not really the kit has allready been out for half the year now....... 2 people got it but their not on the boards..... ill be the first to tell you guys my experience's with it

Red Devil 06-03-2005 01:25 PM

What engine management are they using for it, TSI?

dmp 06-03-2005 01:31 PM

I'm more interested in how your car will be running 10,000 miles after the install, than how it runs on the drive home. ;)

:D

BlueRenesis82 06-03-2005 02:15 PM

I agree with dmp, greddy has a much more proven track record of things not blowing up

Ciao 06-03-2005 05:55 PM

Musta had heaps of dramas to finally get the kit ready ... Bit suspect

Greddy's tried and tested and can get the same HP figures with only minor tweaking

Just my 2cents

bureau13 06-03-2005 10:09 PM

To be fair guys none of these kits, GReddy included, are really tried and tested. There simply hasn't been enough time.

jds

redjetpack 06-03-2005 10:15 PM

id let my engine take the heat if i didnt have to pay the hefty fee to install a ssr turbo.

i just cant afford a turbo, but i crave hearing the whistle of a turbocharger under my hood....

JeRKy 8 Owner 06-04-2005 01:12 PM

All I have to say about this is: FUCKIN FINALLY!

army_rx8 06-04-2005 01:16 PM

^ me too...

when you get it installed try to put about 20k miles on your car in like 2 months..then we can all see how it holds up :D

HiTMaNN 06-04-2005 07:03 PM

LoL you lucky bastard

IZoomZoomI 06-04-2005 07:14 PM

Why did u pick this unit over ptp's ? Close to same peak power plus boost kicks in sooner...

dmp 06-04-2005 07:35 PM

but it doesn't take science or long-term tests to know a system adding 50whp is going to stress the drivetrain much less than one adding 150...etc...numbers for example only.

Plus - I think those were the guys who were kinda shady...I hope it works out, however! :)

D1GT-x8 06-04-2005 09:52 PM

they are using ric shaw tsi unit ......
and the reason why i picked SPEED FORCE over PTP is because the shop is much closer to me... i can report problems to them easier... they can fix problem easier....it take like 15 mins from my house to get to the shop.... and plus TIM and the guys from SPEEDFORCE are really cool.... plus the previous work impressed me.... remember keith tah lil supra making ridiculous horsepower... thier 944... and the g35 that they have in the shop

There are guys here that have had the Greddy kit for 6 mths now and some have had over 12000 miles . Sorry to me that's tried and tested :D :D

I guess its all relative, but if my car ran 12k miles with no problems reliability question is still up in the air with me. Put it through 100k miles then break open the engine then we will see if its tried and tested. No unit out is tried and tested simply b/c it only came out half a year ago, sure it's been tested but hardly tried. Come again two years in the future then we will see. Overall everybody is taking a stab in the dark with any FI project.

JeRKy 8 Owner 06-05-2005 02:29 PM

Also...what makes you think the owner with the Greddy who has had it for 12,000 miles guns it from every stoplight like I would? :D

D1GT-x8 06-07-2005 11:18 AM

yeah i mean its not really tested in miles yet but then again 12000 mile isnt really good miles to tell.... give it about 3 to 4 years then we can tell.... as far as a reason i picked this is also the power output that its giving out..... and if your comparing it to greedy.... how about if HKS puts out a system.... can you compare them also.... no because off course HKS will win because of their quality and performance...... how about if ACOSTA motorsports... put out a system for the renesis.... knowing the previous success with their 3 rotor..... will you trust ACOSTA over greddy.... my conclusion you cant really tell how smooth our car will go... everything in our car is so new that we just cant tell.... how did greddy become so trusted because of time....... now why not be the first to trust SFR/SSR like the first to trust greddy when they were new and let their company grow.....

DreRX8 06-07-2005 01:09 PM

Good luck and post pics and info as soon as the install is complete.

D1GT-x8 06-08-2005 11:21 AM

im just excited... cant wait 12 more days..... by the way any questions you guys have for me to ask them

Synistyr 06-09-2005 05:49 PM

My friend called SSR a couple months ago in reference to the turbo. He said they wanted him to take his car to thier main shop in Pheonix (is that where you are going for your install?). He also said the reason he didnt go ahead with the install is because they lied to him about it being emmisions friendly. I wish you the best of luck with the install, but be wary.

When you post the dyno sheet, also post a copy of the receipt ;)

We said that it wouldn't be CARB Compliant, but there is absolutely no reason it can't pass emissions in any other state.

redjetpack 06-09-2005 11:21 PM

waaaaaaiiiit. ssr has a shop in phoenix? grrr maybe ill sell all my worldly possessions to have them install a turbo on my baby.

hey ssr you wouldnt be willing to help a poor boy out would ya? howabout for a donor car?

i promise i will drive like crazy with your product on my car and report the results....

sound like a deal?

yea i didnt think so.......

D1GT-x8 06-10-2005 10:43 AM

i have never spoken to SSR i mainly dealt wy SPEED FORCE RACING. SSR is in pheonix , and SFR is in sandiego.plus I knew that it wasnt gonna be street legal. and i sure will post dyno sheets but as far as reciept, i cant really discuss the price.

Moostafa29 06-21-2005 08:56 AM

So whats up?!?

JeRKy 8 Owner 06-21-2005 01:31 PM

Hopefully he doesn't hold back on us for days like SSR would. Announce something and not come through for another 3 - 4 weeks afterwards

D1GT-x8 06-21-2005 08:38 PM

hahah you guys are already talking sh*t. well unfortunately.SFR was short staffed, and it was really understandable. as one of my friends recently died by a fatal gunshot wound. it turned out that 2 of their mechanics was a friend with the same guy.plus two extra cars came in a black ferrari, and the original rx8 with the sfr turbo came in to get the turbo taken off because he was gonna take it to the dealership for some warranty issues. so tim rescheduled my install for next monday. but he told me to give him a call saturday to see if they were fine. i know you guys was really excited. so was i. but next week guys.,if everything goes well at the shop. it should be in.

VelociRedBeast 06-21-2005 08:39 PM

Jip!.....
