Nitrous Question

So i just purchased a zex wet kit for my 04 rx8. I have been doing alot of reading but i couldnt quite find the answer. How many people run nitrous with the stock intake and exhaust? Also just for kicks, for the people who had nitrous and removed it i was just wondering why? Thanks

^there is a few around the boards using Nitrous....some have had problems some haven't....just dont' go for a ridicoulous shot liek 150 or something...do 50 shot or POSSSIBLY 75....but if you don't know much about nitrous you better research it before instlling it and attempting to use it......

Somebody just blew an intake apart because of that among other issues...
Both of those posts are slightly inaccurate. If you aren't running in first gear, then you don't need to worry about traction control. I personally don't use it till second gear after 4k rpm. I can see how traction control could cause issues, but you should be careful to avoid losing traction in the first place as you're not going any faster if you're wheels are just spinning.

He was right about avoiding ridiculous shots, but even 75 is a bit much for the time being. You'll want to keep to a 55 shot or 65 shot. It's typically recommended to stick to a 55 shot, though some people have run a 65 shot without issues. The 55 shot is definitely your safest/best bet for now. Stock intake is perfectly fine, as is the exhaust.

You might want to consider the BHR spacer so you don't have to put a hole into your intake. I started with the nozzle installed in the intake and just recently got the spacer and I'm really glad I did. The rubber around where the nozzle was installed had started to crack and it probably would have ended up being an issue down the road. With the spacer it just installs without any issues and when you're done and uninstall without any issues.

There are a few reasons why people might want to remove it. Some people just want more power. Some people need money or are selling the car etc. I personally don't have the time or the money to fill up the tank often so I frequently have thought of getting rid of my system. That said, when I got the spacer installed and I filled up my tank, I put off the idea of selling it. It's quite a bit of fun when the tank isn't empty.

Did you replace your oem fuel lines with new ones when you installed your system? Or do you know where there is one good write up covering everything in the install. I have searched for a while now but have not found any thanks.

That question doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

If your concern is being able to take your RX8 into the dealer to be fixed due to nitrous causing engine damage I would re-think your purchase.

Used correctly, nitrous is perfectly safe. However, modifying your RX8 whether it's an intake or a turbo brings about a certain amount of risk regarding damage to your engine. If you are not willing to accept the risk then I wouldn't suggest modifying the car in the first place.
