I would say check fuel connections also your engine harness pins.

The basic issue starts with all of the assuming and guessing ...

dannobre 06-26-2014 02:06 PM

LOL.....likely flooded now would be my guess ;)

Hey an update and a new problem. I got my car started. The positive wire on the interceptor was cracked and wasn't getting continuity. Okay it starts but won't Rev over 2000 rpm. And it's really hesitant with that even. Throttle I'm put is insignificant. I get maybe 10% power. The first 5 seconds however, I can Rev it to the sky and it's smooth. I have no clue.

dannobre 06-30-2014 09:25 PM

Sounds like limp mode...take off your intake bellows and see if your throttle plate opens when you give ir gas

landsfeldrx8 06-30-2014 10:00 PM

That's it. How do I get it out of limp mode?

9krpmrx8 06-30-2014 10:03 PM

Fix whatever is causing it to go into limp mode.

dannobre 06-30-2014 10:03 PM

Most often OMP or DBW throttle system

Check the oil pump wiring first...then read up on adjusting Position switch

landsfeldrx8 06-30-2014 10:46 PM

Thank you. I'll fiddle with it tomorrow and report back my findings. I want to go fast!

TeamRX8 06-30-2014 10:57 PM

Go first, go fast second ... lol

landsfeldrx8 07-01-2014 08:02 AM

Wise words!

landsfeldrx8 07-01-2014 12:10 PM

Okay I installed my new position sensor for the mop. I can't find the clip that plugs into the bottom though. Any ideas?

dannobre 07-01-2014 12:11 PM

There in lies your problem.....you need a connected and functioning OMP

Try and set the position switch where the old one was and start from there....setting them is a bit of a PIA....you might get lucky

landsfeldrx8 07-01-2014 12:56 PM

I unplugged it to install the exhaust manifold and can't find the clip for the sensor. I have no idea where it is. There's nothing near it

dannobre 07-01-2014 12:58 PM

Do you have the wires for the pump body...the bigger 6pin one?

landsfeldrx8 07-01-2014 01:54 PM

Yeah everything is plugged in except the position sensor. I can't find the clip for it.

Edit: found the sensor clip. Plugged it in. Same thing. Do I need to have that code cleared? The mop was never touched. So the settings are still the same as stock. I don't understand!

dannobre 07-01-2014 03:22 PM

If you removed the position sensor you have to reset it...trial and error I am afraid. It is a picky little biatch.. :-(

You need to reset the ECU in between each trial position.....

landsfeldrx8 07-01-2014 04:05 PM

Okay. I putsed over to the shifty parts store to use their scan tool. It gave me: p0172, p0037, p0506, p0410. Which are: too rich, 02 sensor, idle rpm lower than expected, and secondary air injection system, respectively.

dannobre 07-01-2014 04:33 PM

None of which will cause limp mode...you need to play with the switch...trust me.....

I wrote a thread about setting It... check it out

landsfeldrx8 07-01-2014 08:23 PM

Awesome will do thanks man.

landsfeldrx8 07-03-2014 01:21 PM

Out of sheer curiosity, could a vacuum leak cause the limp?

dannobre 07-03-2014 01:25 PM

Not likely.....I would be 99% sure it is your OMP....

Did you try changing the position switch orientation a bit both ways...with a reset in between?

Are you sure that the wiring is OK?

landsfeldrx8 07-03-2014 04:47 PM

The wiring looked alright. I'm on duty so I haven't been able to make the adjustments just yet. I think I have my vac lines set up right. Just a thought.

landsfeldrx8 07-06-2014 05:37 PM

Okay I pulled the sensor off but I don't see how you can adjust it. It feels spring loaded and doesn't have any apparent settings. :/
