Well it cranks now, bit doesn't actually start.

The basic issue starts with all of the assuming and guessing ...
LOL.....likely flooded now would be my guess ;)

Hey an update and a new problem. I got my car started. The positive wire on the interceptor was cracked and wasn't getting continuity. Okay it starts but won't Rev over 2000 rpm. And it's really hesitant with that even. Throttle I'm put is insignificant. I get maybe 10% power. The first 5 seconds however, I can Rev it to the sky and it's smooth. I have no clue.
Sounds like limp mode...take off your intake bellows and see if your throttle plate opens when you give ir gas
That's it. How do I get it out of limp mode?
Fix whatever is causing it to go into limp mode.
Most often OMP or DBW throttle system
Check the oil pump wiring first...then read up on adjusting Position switch |
Thank you. I'll fiddle with it tomorrow and report back my findings. I want to go fast!
Go first, go fast second ... lol
Wise words!
Okay I installed my new position sensor for the mop. I can't find the clip that plugs into the bottom though. Any ideas?
There in lies your problem.....you need a connected and functioning OMP
Try and set the position switch where the old one was and start from there....setting them is a bit of a PIA....you might get lucky |
I unplugged it to install the exhaust manifold and can't find the clip for the sensor. I have no idea where it is. There's nothing near it
Do you have the wires for the pump body...the bigger 6pin one?
Yeah everything is plugged in except the position sensor. I can't find the clip for it.
Edit: found the sensor clip. Plugged it in. Same thing. Do I need to have that code cleared? The mop was never touched. So the settings are still the same as stock. I don't understand! |
If you removed the position sensor you have to reset it...trial and error I am afraid. It is a picky little biatch.. :-(
You need to reset the ECU in between each trial position..... |
Okay. I putsed over to the shifty parts store to use their scan tool. It gave me: p0172, p0037, p0506, p0410. Which are: too rich, 02 sensor, idle rpm lower than expected, and secondary air injection system, respectively.
None of which will cause limp mode...you need to play with the switch...trust me.....
I wrote a thread about setting It... check it out |
Awesome will do thanks man.
Out of sheer curiosity, could a vacuum leak cause the limp?
Not likely.....I would be 99% sure it is your OMP....
Did you try changing the position switch orientation a bit both ways...with a reset in between? Are you sure that the wiring is OK? |
The wiring looked alright. I'm on duty so I haven't been able to make the adjustments just yet. I think I have my vac lines set up right. Just a thought.
Okay I pulled the sensor off but I don't see how you can adjust it. It feels spring loaded and doesn't have any apparent settings. :/
