When the business closed for 2 years, the fabricator recycled the samples, ouch. So alot of my time has been spent re-making the stuff.

As for the RX8. I still would like to apply the Nissan Pulsar GTI-R concept of ITBs with the MAF. I also would like to say I would only be concerned with HP between the RPM range of 6k to 9k. I would be making this only for a track/race application which I will be using my car for.

But I am working on an S/C kit of my own right now. Maybe I might be able to add the ITB's in my set-up if I have enough time to play around with some design ideas.

Ben

S/C ITB setup would be amazing, even a itb and turbo on a renesis would be unreal

If you can think it, you can do it.

benjamz if you ever have the need to hire a welder, machinist, tube/pipe bender ect. let me know :).

Benjamz 01-28-2009 10:50 AM

warwickben,

Thank you very much for the offer. But when I bought the business it came with the cnc and fabricator guys. I am very lucky to have this opportunity. If ever I move to MA then you would be my first pick...lol.

Ben

warwickben 01-28-2009 03:38 PM

id move there lol.

had to ask right?

Benjamz 01-29-2009 01:49 AM

Metal works is good money over here right now. They average guy is making like 70 an hour.

warwickben 01-29-2009 05:14 AM

guess i do need to move the field iam in hurting real bad. but my work is changing up what we've been doing.

Benjamz 06-22-2009 05:42 AM

update.

ITB prototype almost done. You reuse your factory sensors. It is a plenum stlye ITB set-up. This is for off road race set-up and is intended for race/track application. This is also included in my Eaton TVS s/c kit comming out next year. You can use the ITB's in N/A form and if you buy them before the s/c kit comes out, the price of the ITB's will be deducted from the s/c kit price. Best results will be seen with an aftermarket EMS tune. Also included in the s/c kit is a vmount set-up and mini battery relocation and oil filler neck relocation.

Ben

i bet an e-beer that we will finish the itbs before you do :p
want to share some pics of your system, even in private\msn since you already have ours? :)

Benjamz 06-22-2009 06:21 AM

lol, I can show you a drawing like you showed me. But Mine is completely different then yours. I like that too. There will be more variety out there. Here is your E-Beer. I still have some FD stuff to finish so I know your set-up will be done first..lol

bse50 06-22-2009 06:34 AM

Lol, read where i live and make a thought on how long it will take to have the parts manufactured :)
Your system will probably retain the intake in the stock location though, ours needs a battery relocation.
I have pics of the work in progress now, i will send them to you as soon as i see you online!

Benjamz 06-22-2009 07:15 AM

Only thought that comes to mind on where you live is........ I hope you make it sound like a Ferrari..hahaha

Macius8 06-22-2009 10:02 AM

guys wtf share those pictures with everyone!! lol

...ok i promise i wont tell anyone if you pm them to me :)

bse50 06-22-2009 10:06 AM

i'd rather wait and post actual pictures, all i have now is a plate, a cut lower intake manifold and some throttle bodies :)

Benjamz 06-22-2009 10:58 AM

Yeah same here, still in individual pieces. But it's comming together soon....lol...hahahahaha

J03K1LLARX8 06-22-2009 11:08 AM

ITBs are so possible, but.... very very costly. also if you think your 8 is loud now your in for a little treat. gas, good luck on that. wit itb's you looking at like 13 mpg highway, no joke. well there are some up sides and downs but good luck.

bse50 06-22-2009 11:11 AM

Not really, it mostly depends on the tune.
We're experimenting with this ITB setup to see if we can get rid somehow of the intake that chokes the engine at high rpm (above stock levels) since this is the only way of getting some numbers from the 13b-msp.
We're also retaining a sort of airbox like the one that the old bmw m3 e30 have, dunno if you get me :)

The cut lower intake manifold without some of the solenoids

Spacer\adapter plate CAD design

now, on to the good things.
We will keep the stock TB motor but probably let the tertiary TBs open with the stock solenoids instead of working all together. Still discussing this to keep low rpm driveability and noise to a low level.

I helped designing part of this system but it will be installed and finished by a friend of mine that will also do some dyno pulls.

The biggest problem will be making the airbox from where the throttle bodies will breathe, it will look like this but in fiberglass or plastic.
https://bavariansolutions.com/store/...20ver2%201.jpg

Bad thing is that there's no room to make a mechanical injection set-up with this engine since the injectors would have to be positioned in a determined way and some intake trumpets would hit the firewall. That was another idea but it can't be realized.

Ben, i would really like your input now :)

Benjamz 06-23-2009 12:02 PM

Looks awsome, your way is ideal for full on N/A as you said. My way is really made for the S/C kit but will work in N/A form. I believe mine is less complicated thus keeping it cost effective and offering it in my s/c kit. I believe it will work best if you keep the secondaries closed and use a solinod to open the secondaries. The stock parts can be used. I really cant wait to see both of these done.

I am waiting for completion of my project and will send for a patent.

It will work for the s/c kit because it will be forced induction. I am mainly doing this for throttle response.

Yep, here is some progress.
I read that your SC is on hold for some brackets... i can probably have them machined for close to 0 + materials and shipping. Let me know :)

This set up will be adopted by the guy that is crafting\building all this stuff. I only gave him some inputs and advices ;)

Benjamz 06-24-2009 07:43 AM

Wow BSE50, that is very nice. But I am already bound by contract. Thanks anyways though. Cant wait to see your ITB set-up in action.

archiei40 06-27-2009 02:53 AM

omg, i wanna see your ITB in action! make sure u capture a film... < really want a high powered N/A 8 over here

bse50 07-30-2009 02:52 PM

Uhm, the first airbox proto in fiberglass was horrible so i trashed it. I will make it out of an aluminium panel after i come back from my holidays :)

We're planning to do 2 stages: the first one will be a "test" to see how and if it helps top end power: Single throttle body and 6 air horns that suck air from the airbox (2\3 airbox tests from 2.6 to 3.9 litres). If we see an improvement with this set up then we will start to work with the real individual throttle bodies :)
