IC Placement Question

I've been kicking around ideas for the best Intercooler placement for our cars, as I'm not a big fan of front mounts as they can block the airstream to the radiator. A V mount is usually the best compromise, but requires alot of fabrication.

So, how about mounting it in the engine bay with electric fans like the radiator? I know it will still heat soak some, but if you ducked some air to it and had fans, would that be enough to keep it cool? the VFAD duct could be used for this purpose.

Just throughing ideas out there.....

I didint think a v-mount would take that much fabrication.

I haven't really explored the V mount, but I imagine it would affect the A/C condensor placement as well as the radiator. I guess I'm trying to keep as much stuff in the stock placement for simplicity and cost.

Placing an intercooler infront of a radiator with mazsport-modified fan relays is quick, easy, and RARELY pushes coolant temps above 200*.

I was thinking about this a while back. You will have to Angle the radiator the opposite way. It has been done on the knight sports supercharged car but i havent seen it other then that. If you move the battery and the intake box then you have plenty of room to play with. It might be worth trying.

For the knightsports v-mount, there is a need to change to an aftermarket bumper to fit and to ensure sufficient airflow. The floorboard need to be cut as well to fit the supercharger inside.
