I am also going to be ordering a new pre-cat 02 sensor as i am getting a p0130 code. I ordered one for the install, but they gave me the sensor that fit INTO the cat pipe (short wires) as opposed to the one that fit into the OEM header (long wires). I'm not saying that is causing some of the issues, but i feel it is definitely something to keep an eye on

so .................... did you actually install the sensor they gave you into the wrong location ?

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-15-2011 05:53 PM

apparently. we cut and soldered the old sensor wires to the one we got. I plan to remove this sensor before it gets practically welded (stuck like most 02 sensors do) and try to find the correct one. I won't be driving the car until I get it tuned, so I feel i am playing it relatively safe

I'm not sure what that sensor will be telling the ECU but I wouldn't do any tuning until you have the right sensor in there .

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-15-2011 06:05 PM

agreed. I am ordering a new sensor as we speak. hopefully, this will set things a little more straight :fingersx:

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-15-2011 07:02 PM

so I just looked at the website that i bought the sensor from, It said that the front o2 sensor acts as an AFR sensor as well, so I'm almost 100% sure that this may be throwing off the AFR's

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-15-2011 07:19 PM

noob question for y'all. any short term risks to running a stock cat with the stock greddy turbo? I'm pretty sure there's not, but I just want reassurance

NgoRX8 06-15-2011 07:34 PM

possibly blow it out in that short time.

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-15-2011 07:58 PM

yea... :/

the new sensor should ship out tomorrow and set things better, if not straight

RotaryMachineRx 06-16-2011 11:15 AM

O2 sensors whole purpose is to measure AFR's man.... thats where the AP gets its readings from.... do you have an aftermarket AFR gauge as well?

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-16-2011 11:19 AM

^^yea, i now know that. I don't have a gauge...yet

RotaryMachineRx 06-16-2011 11:40 AM

and as far as leaving your cat in it's only so long before it clogs with the turbo, better off gutting it if you don't plan on getting a midpipe soon.... there is a DIY of how to gut the cat

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-16-2011 11:44 AM

^^cool, fortunately, the kit came with an AP midpipe

warren(silver-roxy-8) 06-17-2011 09:51 PM

problem resolved *knock on wood* it was the o2 sensor :banghead:
