Greddy Turbo 1/4 mile times???

I know this will be a biased question but, what is the average time for an 8 to run the quarter in being completly stock except for adding the turbo? Any by adding the turbo really add a HUGE seat in the pants effect?? Thanks, Nick

I don't think there are a lot of people that have JUST the turbo, and have dragged it. I'd guess low 14s, maybe high 13s with no other mods. The turbo makes a huge difference because you actually have some nice torque afterwards.

The best time I've heard of is 13.1 by Adrian. Unfortunately, I believe most are running low 14's or high 13's.

Greddy turbo kits suck.....we should run faster than low 14's or high 13's for as much as the kit costs. Hell you could spend $500 - $600 on a nos kit and run the same thing.

Go for a ride in one that's pushing 7+ psi, then get back to us with what you think

Thanks for the info guys. I used to have a 04 cobra that ran mid 11's. I was just wondering how much the Greddy helped. Looks like im going to need more than a turbo huh?

I'm inclined to say no, you just need a bigger turbo. But, even PTP's car with a GT35r only ran a mid 13.

You'll need quite a bit of work to get into the 11s.

Charles R. Hill is looking to do a Direct Port Nitrous setup (read his threads) about 125+ hp jets. Along with some drag tires, you might get into the low-mid12's, but 11's would most likely incorporate a 20B 3 rotor swap.

My local drag strip is at 6000ft elevation and is VERY slick. I have real trouble locking-up there. I'm running street tires BFG KDW2's. I've only been to the track twice so I suck as a driver. My 60ft times are on the order of 2.5 seconds - shameful.... My best times are in the low 14's (14.3 or so IIRC) at about 100mph.

you need a smaller final drive ( 4.1 or 3.9 ) and a bigger turbo then you'll break into 12's or lower.

The suspension on this car simply isn't set up to make it a 1/4 mi machine.

I'll bet you couldn't get it into the 10s with 500 WHP without SERIOUS suspension mods, & that's just silly for a 2900 # car.

I like it just fine with power + handling, thank you very much.

The Greddy kit already comes with essentially an 18G (though slightly different & called T618Z), so the 20G would not be a much better alternative. More lag, and marginal hp increase. The GT35R kit seems to be a good combination, with ability of up to 400 WHP. I wouldn't mind to see a T04Z kit come out, but it would probably be big $$$.
