ghetto 4 rotor Renesis thread

The thought came from one of my little cousins asking if you can just attach the engines together. Then I got bored at work and saw that some guys from down under apparently already did this. Although they did this by just mounting the engines onto a frame and then connecting them with a U joint essentially. I think I would prefer a more rigid mounted plate connecting the bellhousing of one engine to the front iron of the other. I'd bet that the U joint coupling will have issues with shaft flex and misalignment. Something like the E&J bearing support may help.

Can't say we don't have a lack of cheap rx8 parts to wrangle up. Get two 180hp engines paired up for ~360hp NA or plumb up a turbo setup for 350hp each to get ~700hp. It seems stupid, but if you can get it to work, economically speaking getting a mating plate made would certainly be cheaper than building a 3 rotor. Maybe instead of another shitty turbo renesis build I will look into doing something like this after the REW is running. I feel like we have to find some use for all these rx8 parts over the next 20 years.
