Talking Forced Performance Turbochargers

Just stumbled across these while poking around online...

Read reviews from the DSM community (and some bimmer guys) and they all rave about them. Thought I'd post it up for anyone interested.

http://store.forcedperformance.net/m..._Code=Turbo-FP

Specifically the FP HTA GT3076 and the FP HTA GT3582R

This post was informative - http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...71&postcount=1

And just for giggles, a photo of the 35R from Garret vs the 3582R HTA. They also offer a 3586R with an oversized compressor.

So basically, it's like the water pump upgrade... just for a turbo instead

Garrett is now releasing their own lineup of Billet compressor wheels...

I have a 35R upgraded to a billet 62...

FP is a top notch shop with some of the best turbo knowledge and testing (former DSM owner). They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for with a turbo.

Those are the new Garrett GTX GT42s? NICE!

I'd give my right nut for a HTA billet wheel on a GT35 located right about where my battery is right now

Well you could put one there, it just wouldn't be attached to anything.

Lol, its a fair point. I would love a top-mount turbo too, I just wish someone would make a top mount kit that worked with the AP. There are very few options for turbos to fit in the low mount spot on the GReddy manifold. It's goddamn tight down there.

None that support the AccessPORT currently. The PTP, SFR, and Esmeril kits are all top mount kits, but they don't work with the AP. If one of those kits was offered with a proper MAF setup for AP tuning I imagine it would sell quite well.

For use with the AP;

Is it up and running yet? If it works with the AP, I know I'm interested in a similar setup.

It will work with the AP. The custom build took into consideration of what tuning management is going to used.
It should be up soon and thanks to Turblown for thread whoreing ! U r a true friend !

No offense intended, but I'm not interested in "will" it work, but rather "did" it work...

I do things every day that *should* work but don't, so I've learned to be skeptical until I see results

It looks like good work, and good planning, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

there is NO reason a top mount cannot work with the AP for tuning. there is plenty of room between a filter located outside the engine bay(think AEM/MS style) and the intake of the compressor to put the MAF sensor... (and to do it properly

you just have to be willing to extend the wiring, and go for a custom made pipe or two

And I don't doubt that, in fact I agree completely, I just want to see someone do it right first

That thing IS a beast! What are the horsepower targets on that thing?

Seems like that's an awfully humongous turbo.
